I’ve been told off on TikTok for defending women’s rights to HRT

Apparently women like us are the cause of other people being denied “life saving” HRT. When I queried what life threatening illness required HRT I was told it was “gender affirming care”. And that such people should take priority (due to possible depression and suicide) over 50yo women going through a perfectly natural stage of their life.

i could scream. And the sad thing is I’m too scared to answer back in case of a pile on, internet stalking, doxxing, etc.

Fuck them. Natural or not, menopause can cause depression and suicidal ideation as well. But I guess we should just suck that up, what with the whole not being born with a penis thing. Our pain is trivial. Their discomfort, otoh, is a tragedy.
Don't engage any further with those lunatics unless you enjoy banging your head against a wall. You absolutely cannot reason with them.

Absolutely this - my main/worst symptom was depression and wanting to disappear, similar to when I had PND.

Sorry to hear that. Did you come through it okay? I'm still on bioidentical HRT with no plans to ever stop.

gender affirming care…
…50yo women going through a perfectly natural stage of their life.

What I do not understand is, if biological sex is irrelevant to gender identity, how is this not simply a perfectly natural state for trans people?

Yes thank you, mostly all good now and has been for a couple of years. But it was pretty unpleasant at the time for me and those close round. My GP has been fantastic.

It's typical. On Twitter I pointed out that women need certain forms of HRT in order to reverse uterine hyperplasia and prevent cancer.

Apparently, the special men should come first.

Just to explain: I'm currently on Kliofem (combined HRT for post-menopausal women), plus I've had a Mirena fitted. I've to stay on this combination for 6 months, prior to getting another hysteroscopy.

(I've only recently discovered that the special men take progesterone as well as oestrogen...Maybe they should be offered coils? Could be interesting...)

And apparently trans women average life expectancy is 35. Am now telling them how dim they are and they need to stop parroting bollocks. But it’s hard to argue coherently with the character limit!

Best advice I ever had was, do you want to be right or effective?

Arguing with them makes you right but won't change anything.

You won't change their minds and they will bait you because they want to waste your time and energy on arguing with them. And they use your arguments to feed their AI bots and beat you again in a year's time. Don't feed them.

Walking away is hard but it's the best thing to do.

I've always found that "You are a bell end" fits the limit fine, and when repeated over and over bores them into stopping responding.

I have a different perspective to this. I agree that no-one will change the minds of TIMs determined to see themselves as the victims. BUT a gender critical viewpoint which challenges some of the hyperbole they come up will be seen by anyone else. Many people tend to believe the hyperbole and say things like "it hurts no-one, why are you being unkind?" Unless they can be persuaded by coherent, articulate GC arguments.

AllLopsided · 09/11/2024 14:02

I suppose that under that hypothesis, women who are on 'hormone blockers' for endometriosis or adenomyosis are also robbing TIMs of 'life-saving' drugs Envy
