The Green Party Regional Council (GPRC) is responsible for the egregious suspension of Gender Critical members. Some sensible members have had enough, and have just booted out the GPRC co chair.

BREAKING: Green Party Extraordinary General Meeting in North West region has just RECALLED both their GPRC national reps with over 2/3 majority. The regional members are livid at abuse of Disciplinary No Fault Suspension. Tide is turning.

In further news, at a sometimes ill-tempered extraordinary general meeting tonight, Bristol Green Party - also a regional party & home to one of our MPs - passed a motion supporting a Legal Review of No Fault Suspension and the Complaints processes.

Fanatics in Green Party so unhinged they can lose a motion at an Extraordinary General Meeting & pretend Yes equals No & No equals Yes, that words mean opposite of what they do & people don't understand what they are voting for. Au contraire, tonight a bloody nose for corruption.

Bristol?!

Bugger me sideways.

That's seems good. Forgive me if I feel a little salty though, what's taken them so long!? I'm sure there are excuses, probably good ones, and I'm being unfair but it's going to take me a moment. The members they've suspended, expelled, the court cases, the stress, the expense, all ongoing. Yeah, I'm pleased but not rushing out to buy champagne just yet.

Anyway <shakes self> finally! Well done.

Imnobody4 · 03/10/2024 10:38

Being optimistic I consider this a very good sign.

Snowypeaks · 03/10/2024 10:41

It is very good. Very heartening.

May be the sane members of the party needed to give their lunatic fringe enough to rope the sane members could use to hang them with.

It could be the excuse for taking this long or it could be wishful thinking on my behalf.

Remember about a third of the party voted for Ali as leader a few years back. There has always been resistance, but looks like TAs are pushing more people into action. Further developments show a Green officer responding in a bigoted manner.

Last night I faithfully reported unprecedented recall of GPRC reps by Green party NW region following EGM vote. Regional comms officer Paolo Granelli lashed out against me in hissy fit. Smear now deleted. GPEW: Perpetrating unlawful discrimination differently,

Mr Granelli trying to dig bigger hole for himself now. This is sort of hostile environment rational Greens are being subjected to daily. Green party officer doing unlawful discrimination differently.

Marcus Grant
And on the same night, down South at a Bristol Green Party EGM: We all discussed how there was potential of the national complaints system to be abused. Then were shown details of an actual complaint that contained opinion and even lies, instead of the requisite evidence.

Lots of small battles have been raging for years. They are mostly not visible. And the most brave and brilliant people are working away at it all on many fronts. It's taken time.

It's also catching up with just how much bad faith tactics have been used against good people. The activists trying to take over and get rid of veteran members are not good people. They lie, cheat, and use any tactics they can.

Normal, sensible members are not like that.

They've not orchestrated malicious smear campaigns or abused process. Winning takes longer if you're not fighting dirty.

It doesn't take long to sack someone unfairly but it takes a long time to take it to court and win the case.

More details on what happened in NW and Bristol plus the revolt included the Eastern region:

Turning the tide: Internal conflict and calls for reform in the Green Party
October 8, 2024 by Greens in Exile
Last week may turn out to have been a turning point in the reform of The Green Party of England and Wales (GPEW) as it faces increasing internal conflict, largely over its controversial disciplinary procedures, which have led to over 20 recent expulsions and suspensions, particularly of members with “gender-critical” views. Recent events highlight the tensions within the party as ordinary members are becoming aware of the problems and are making sure their voices are heard. These events include two Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) held in both Bristol and the North West on October 2nd and the Eastern Region GPRC rep election result announced on Friday... more details

Zoe Hatch has a source which says the Greens have spent £1 million in legal fees trying to prove women don't exist.

Zoe Hatch #ForWomenAndPlanet

A source from the Green Party advises the Party has spent £1,000,000 on legal fees in the last few years. That is £1m of members money, which should have been spent to help the party combat the climate & nature emergency.

Here's an idea TheGreenParty
- stop breaking the law!

The Green implosion over this issue is only a matter of time it seems. With the May elections incoming the countdown is ticking.

It occurs to me that perhaps because the Green Parties across Europe are so obsessed with identity politics, and fighting ensuing court cases, that these political parties have left a gap in the representation market which allows groups like Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion to take over climate activism.

The Green Party in many countries tended to be less extreme in its climate advocacy and to choose more democratic and parliamentary-based methods; however now, because Green Parties have more members who are interested in gender politics than in trees, people frustrated by lack of action are getting involved in direct action rather than normal political activism.

You could be right, The Greens were never very good at promoting their cause, but they did create a party structure, perhaps it left them wide open to a hostile takeover by a bunch of activists who needed a party structure to further their cause. Now they have nothing to do with the environment and those that are concerned have had to find another way to get their message across.

Latest revelation. The Greens lawyers [some of the ones they paid £1 million to] advised them they were being sexist and breaking the law, they did it anyway. The Greens are doomed legally - it is only a matter of time.

Green Party fails to heed its own legal advice
October 21, 2024 by Greens in Exile

As previously reported, it has come to light that the Green Party of England and Wales (GPEW) has spent £1 million on legal fees over the past four years. However, more concerning is that a portion of these fees was used to obtain legal advice, which the Party then disregarded.

In February 2023, the Party sought legal advice from its solicitors, Bates Wells, regarding the treatment of gender-critical members. The advice detailed how the Party could and could not lawfully act in such matters. Yet, just a month later, Mary Clegg, who served as the GPEW CEO until her resignation at the September 2024 Party Conference, issued a distorted and incomplete version of this legal advice. This modified version was shared with key Party bodies, including the Disciplinary Committee (DC), the Disputes & Complaints Referral Group, and representatives from the Green Party Regional Council (GPRC). These bodies have the authority to place members under no-fault suspension (NFS), and the altered advice likely influenced their decisions.

Had these officers been made aware of the correct legal position, they could have avoided some of the mistakes that led to unfair suspensions and expulsions, notably affecting members of the Greens in Exile group, and possibly precluding costly future legal actions...

Wow! Why bother to get legal advice and then put her own spin on it? Seems pointless (and likely to cause incorrect decision making).

Thanks for posting the link Orbit 👍
