Liberal Voice for Women are reclaiming the Lib Dem conference with stall and manifesto

Liberal Voice for Women have a stall at the conference this weekend and it is buzzing.

Our stall at #LDConf in full flow!
Lots of people dropping by including people who agree with us and people who disagree with us and the full spectrum in-between.
Who knew #liberals would want to debate ideas freely?

They are launching a new manifesto For Women. For Reality, For Liberty. If you are a Lib Dem Member or Registered Supporter, add your name online here:

The triumphant hero Natalie Bird is wandering the conference wearing her favourite t-shirt and the TAs are livid. She also spoke at a free speech fringe event:

They also hosted an event.

Can we talk?
Universities are ordinarily thought of as bastions of free thought, where new ideas can emerge and received wisdom can be challenged. Yet in recent years they have become plagued with incidents of censorship, with efforts to close down speaking events, bully and harass gender critical academics and suppress their research occurring with an alarming frequency.
This is an in-person fringe event for Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference in Brighton (online attendance also available).
Speakers Helen Joyce, Laura Favaro and Almut Gadow chaired by LVW Hon. President Baroness Sarah Ludford

When the announcement that Liberal Voice for Women had a stall was made the genderists went mad. Zoe Hollowood, Chair for Liberal Voice for women, had to write a letter explaining the concept of free speech. See below.

The Genderist hold on the Lib Dems is starting to slip following Natalie Bird's win in court against them. Two Liberal Lords are key supporters of Liberal Voice for Women and more and more ordinary members are signing up.

As soon as women are free to speak the genderist nonsense starts to implode.

Biology is real. Deal with it.

The Lib Dems have some mad TRAs but there are less of them, and less of a youth block. I do wonder how the Labour conference is going to pan out, with all the TRAs who are in the Labour Party, and their allies.

Obviously TRAs in the Lib Dems have a disproportionate amount of influence on any policy making around this issue.

Abhannmor · 17/09/2024 16:50

Labour's news management has been absolutely appalling thus far. What would Campbell and Mandelson make of it ? Last thing they need is an unseemly row with ' radicals' shouting everyone down surely? I mean if the TRAs were socialists they'd have been expelled ages ago.

Mark Pack warrants some digging methinks...

Mark Pack looks like an out and out authoritatrian misogynist.
As to the rest, sorry thats not true in my experience.
The Lib Dems are worse than the Greens.
Of all the parties their responses have been the most batshit agressive and offensive in 4 years of writing emails.
And they took £1.4 million from Puberty blocker manufacturers.

The Lib dems are like the vilage in Hot Fuzz, all smiley faces and insanity.

IwantToRetire · 17/09/2024 17:43

The problem ultimately is all the parties and their competing interests are trying to make women's issues fit their agenda rather than adapting themselves to women or indeed to men as they really are.

Yes, but this is partly my worry. How many groups have to compromise to even have a stall?!

“All smiley faces and insanity”

I used to be a member, and I’m afraid I agree with this entirely. Which is why I’m no longer a member.
