How about you stop picking vulnerable 20 year olds off the street to babysit your child?
Yes this is such a grim aspect of it. Gaiman has the means to hire any professional, well-trained nanny or other help of his choice. People who would have professional boundaries and know what is healthy and safe for the child, and professional contracts so they would have recourse to deal with being mistreated. Yet instead it seems to have been about lining up young, vulnerable women who were fans of AP and/or NG, were impressed with/awed by him, who had no money, who were invited into the home in an unclear situation where they were initially treated like friends as well as employees, whose "employment" was tenuous or underpaid so they didn't want to lose the opportunity – a confusing power imbalance that made it much harder for them to stand up to him.
It's also revolting how consistently the things described are about him getting what he wants and giving not one single shit about whether the women are enjoying anything, or about them not wanting to do things. He just insists they have to because that's what he "needs" sexually. That's his idea of a mutually happy relationship is it? His statement is very telling. "Huh? I didn't realise just taking whatever I wanted and not listening to women saying no was a problem!? They seemed fine with it!"
Also although it's all "whiny whiny, you all misunderstood me" there doesn't seem to be any resolve to clear his name, launching of legal action etc. Why not neil? The NYT have just demolished you with a bulldozer, if it's not true you'd sue, right?
