Just read an article in the online version of German magazine "Der Spiegel". A lot of "assigned male at birth" and no real advantage compared to actual women.
If you can't compete against men, why not claim you are a woman and take a woman's place at the biggest international stage for para-athletes.

Makes me sick.

And on Radio 4's 'The Reunion' this morning they had para-athletes explaining very clearly and from personal experience how important, and how minutely-calculated, the classification categories are.

Clearly though it’s just fine for the IOC to drive a coach and horses straight through all of that. I mean who cares, right?

Nobody seems to question why a 50 year old has qualified to compete with twenty year olds.

I was so disgusted by trans male bodied men being allowed to box against women and put their lives at risk in this years Olympics that I just couldn't watch it - and I had thought the ParOlympics might not allow the inequality of male bodied men competing against women - but apparently they have

Notable that the other athlete (I missed her name) despite thinking that Petrillo was lovely also said she probably wouldn't have been happy if she was still competing in that event.

If he truly believes he has no residual male advantage, that makes it all the more obvious that he doesn't have a clue about the actual experience of being a female athlete, with female hormone levels, female body size and composition, and female levels of opportunity to participate and compete in sports. But I suspect he knows full well that he's ripping the piss out of women. Ugh.
