A police officer attacked his partner with a knife. He was registered as a woman six months ago. Will not be charged with “ gender violence”

Presumably it’s not gender violence in Spain because he ‘transitioned’ before the knife attack, so the law there pretends he’s a ‘woman?’

Will they lock him up (assuming they actually bother to give him jail time) in a female prison?

I think there will be some questions but yes this has happened….not sure in this case.

This isn’t one of the men that changed to benefit from “affirmative action” in the police? They didn’t change any things apart from documentation. I am sure one was in the Police and the other was in the army. ,

One of many I think. Funny how equality legislation seems to work best for aggrieved men.

Just seen in the Spanish press that he has been let off a prison sentence because he asked for forgiveness. Many previous incidents recorded. This is what happens when these men self identify. Too bad for the woman stabbed.

Does the perp's gender or self-ID'd sex (or even actual biological sex) make a difference in terms of the law in Spain? The relevant point in law "should" be that the perp targeted a specific class of people who share a protected characteristic, regardless of whether or not the perp also shares it. That would be the case in the UK; not sure if and how Spanish law differs.
