Help me navigate my new workplace

so I just started at a new workplace. The job is ideal and it’s a professional career where I plan to be for some time.
it is a very large organisation (think similar to NHS) and although my department is small it is incredibly captured, think rainbow lanyards, pronouns on email, posters on walls etc.
many of the staff identify as queer ( no issues with them as individuals) and the management are supportive of pushing this ideology.
worse than this there are many vulnerable people who we care for, who are very likely to be influenced by the trans ideology and already have been!
How to navigate this professionally without compromising my own beliefs? This is the first time this has been an issue in a workplace for me…thanks for your advice!

I honestly couldn’t work somewhere where I had to hide my beliefs and pretended to go along with something OP. It seems odd that your workplace is so centred around one ideology. For a start I would never agree to putting my pronouns on my email and I wouldn’t be willing to use a unisex loo at work either. I don’t like the idea of these things being forced onto people. Live and let live.

Is there a SEEN network for your area of employment? There are ones for local authorities, civil service, health, journalism, publishing etc. They might help you navigate this.
i would advise keeping your head down to begin with and thoroughly assessing the situation. Don’t make a big deal of refusing to put pronouns in bio and, while refusing to use wrong sex pronouns for people, try and avoid them whatsoever.
Good luck to you. I’d have probably be hauled into a disciplinary by the end of the first week.

And you weren't aware of this environment during the recruitment process?

First of all, congratulations, enjoy your new post. Get to know people as people, don't make assumptions, keep belief and politics out of work, second. Then if anything comes up that you think is potentially harmful or against the law, be prepared to ask sensible questions or seek to clarify, through to greater challenge if needed. Avoid nitpicking on lots of issues, decide what your lines are.
Find the nuance and the reasonable position, most people are reasonable.
