As a "13 year old" (I am going to assume a real one not just someone who identifies as one) I hope you actually know the difference between writing a story about a dragon and some dodgy bloke walking around in a mask with a butt plug in

errr. That post was not sexualising the word ‘kiddo’. And seriously, don’t be posting photos of yourself on mumsnet.

Helleofabore · 14/11/2024 12:00

Didn’t the dogs in IKEA have butt plugs. And we’re definitely walking around with them… sorry … led around with them.

DeanElderberry · 14/11/2024 12:01

The post was pointing out that 'kiddo' like 'folks' is a word often used by the self-appointed educators of the poor old hard-of-thinking terfs.

Hoppinggreen · 14/11/2024 12:03

@Beetlewithboots you are either 13 and shouldn't be on here OR you are something else and shouldn't be on here.
Either way I imagine once MNHQ get a few reports you won't be very soon

DeanElderberry · 14/11/2024 12:09

Agree, if she's 13 she shouldn't be on here. Of course, that may be some random cautious girl's hand.

Interesting, after the group of silly children who let crickets loose at the LGBA conference.

OOOH yes, I didn't think of that

Boots are closing loads of stores and their Christmas ad has gone down like a cup of cold sick.

heathspeedwell · 14/11/2024 12:24

@Beetlewithboots it's not 'stereotyping' men to suggest that they are more likely to be abusive than women. Male people (however they identify) commit around 99% of sex crimes. Many of them go to extraordinary lengths to gain access to victims.

A good example of this is how convicted rapist David Challenor exploited his son's position in the Green party to try to access addresses of cared for children. He was targeting them because kids in care are easier to abuse. It's all well documented in the Green Party investigation into whether they needed to update their safeguarding policies.

The BBC has a "feature" on the UK news page about Christmas adverts.

It talks about Aldi, Asda, Greggs, Morrisons, Waitrose, M&S (food), Argos, Amazon, John Lewis (non food). Not a peep about Boots.

You'd have thought the Beeb, with its obvious agenda and obsession with drag acts, would be all over the Boots ad. But no, complete tumbleweed

I thought it best to prove it wasn't me having a late night "moment"!

I knew it couldn’t have been you @Boiledbeetle you’re a beetle with impeccable manners 🧐

I wonder if there's a link between childhood overconsumption of cartoons, most of which feature anthropomorphic animal characters, and pretending to be a fox or hedgehog or seagull or whatever these guys do, as an adult.

Surely not,I watched looney tunes avidly as a70s kid.. never once wanted to be a rabbit,a duck,a cat.
Maybe the six million dollar man.😎

Oh come now! We all know that is complete 👇

Why are people always pointing the finger at furries?

I'll admit I had (still do!) a bit of a thing for Orac (the computer) in Blake's 7! I'd have happily been a computer like Orac

Buck Rogers Robot GIF

Orac's a blast from the past!

I was always quite fond of pretending to be either Wonder Woman or Twiki from Buck Rogers, "Beedie-beedie-beedie, Buck!".
