Our very own lovely @gussiegrips (of the Merkin Protest!) is on "Gender a Wider Lens" this week, talking about pelvic health and the effects on women of taking fucktons of testosterone. She is deeply caring. No words are minced.

I was re-reading Helen Joyce's book "Trans" and struck again by the detransitioner who'd had a hysterectomy as part of her transition and didn't find anyone who understood what that really means until she made contact with other women who'd had hysterectomies for medical reasons. They were going through similar physical consequences to hers and were supportive and understanding. Her "trans" support community had no understanding at all of what the operation did to her health and why she wasn't just happy and celebrating her new personhood.
