This message on X/Twitter seesm to be supporting those who want to out the anonymous members of SEEN in Publishing and further it seems to support the blacklisting of those authors/agents etc.

Can you have blacklists in the UK? Is this legal?

Since The Bookseller mentioned our recent launch, SEEN in Publishing has been subject to a wave of unprovoked attacks from people who work in publishing who think differently from us. We have no objection to their voicing disagreements with our views - that is their right - but we are concerned by the number of publishing professionals who seem to think it is acceptable to defame and threaten to blacklist us. Here one of our members gives their view, and explains why we are not publicising who our members are, much as we would all love to live in a world where that is possible.

This is the Real Feminist (NS, pal of Val's). She pops by these boards every so often to remind us of her superior intellect and that she really is the one true real feminist. She gave us rapist gender after all.

I think the police are still holding the caps key as evidence.

There's plenty of books portraying men in a positive light.

Well let's unpick that.

One view: women don't matter and their rights and equality should be entirely destroyed to benefit men, and women who argue against this should be exposed and publicly pilloried for it.

Another view: destroying any group's equality is morally and ethically wrong, this desire to expose and punish the group in question for daring to speak out and resist peacefully is morally and ethically wrong, and and it is perfectly possible to meet the actual needs and wishes of men with trans identities without harming women.

Arguing that women should just respectfully listen to and accept the view of their rights being destroyed because righteous people decree it, and if they dare resist they should accept being publicly punished and harmed is rather like saying that 'slavery is a good thing' is a point of view that should be respected and those resisting slavery should be publicly punished and harmed. Which happened, just as this is happening. It's been repeated in history many times.

Trying to make it into a 'it's just my view' thing is an attempt to shut women up by pressing the female socialisation button and to disguise the appalling and abhorrent male supremacism that this is at its rotten core. If you believe that males have the binary birth right to rule over and use women then have the guts to own it.

Oh stop the weaselling. If you want to support the act of silencing and public witch burning of women resisting male supremacism then own it. Explain it. Share your view. We're all listening.
