Vote for local Tory candidate or spoil vote?

Please can you explain how it works. Looks like the only decent candidate in my area is a Tory. Happens that she's a woman who understands sex-based rights. Labour didn't bother replying and Lib-dem spouted nonsense saying he understood the issue about single sex spaces but also that sex is not binary!

If I vote for the Tory candidate and she wins, will that 1. effectively keep her in (sounds good to me) 2. but also help keep Tories in power (not what I want)

Assuming Labour win, then won't it be ok to at least have a few Tory candidates that fight for sex-based rights? Or does it not work like that? I don't really understand how it all works!

I suspect a crossed out cross for Labour will be counted as a mark for Labour.

I'm afraid it's ridiculously naive to believe that you can 'change Labour from the inside' once they're in power. Women's groups inside Labour have been trying for years and got absolutely nowhere. Many of us here have been trying to explain (and are still shouting at them now at the last hour) how we cannot support this. Labour don't care.

I am no fan of any of the parties. At all. I'm purely choosing at this point the least damaging of the lot, and there's probably a hell of a lot more chance of changing the Tories into something a bit better than managing to get Labour to hear women's voices. And the comment made above: a lot of young, new MPs who are madly TRA will be flooding Labour's ranks from Friday.

If you want to play silly buggers with your vote, that's up to you.

Get to feck, stop trying to police women, I’ll be spoiling my ballot.

If you respect the Tory MP and she is pro women then I would vote for her.
On both counts tof your consideration that would help. Tories wont win but you can help keep their feet to the fire on this by having a Tory mp.
If you cant do that then the other option is to spoil your ballot as a protest.
But honestly if she is good, id vote for her, in otherwords a vote for a good local mp as opposed to the tories as a whole..

Trying to summarize a few different likely scenarios, what are your thoughts?:

  1. Labour wins massive landslide -> they'll bring back Self-ID
  2. Labour wins but not by much -> they'll start listening to women?
  3. Hung parliament -> Labour makes coalition with Lib dems? -> Self-ID or else no deal
  4. Tories win -> Elites win, poor people burn. Rich women will be ok. But at least men will be annoyed so if they realise undecided women put them here then they'll either a. listen or b. blame women even more.

My head hurts. What do you think?

A hung parliment could be disastrous if it gives too much power to greens or libdem. I'm hoping they win without a majority.

Perhaps a constructive solution would be helpful, rather than a smarmy comment?

I could say "Please don't vote misogynist" but I would rather say vote however you want.
