Feminists in Brighton have secured a place in the Brighton Pride parade to march for lesbian and bisexual visibility.

Excellent that same-sex attracted women can be proud and visible at Pride.

Maybe you would if women were insisting they were straight men. If you were constantly being accused of being bigoted and transphobic for not giving women oral sex.

That every time you tried to meet a man on a dating app, it would be full of women claiming to be men.

If every, single nightclub, event or group where you used to associate with men was protested or shut down because violent activists cannot bear the thought of straight people simply being straight.

You’ve got the timeline backwards.

Get the L Out! were the original protest.

L with the T are the reactionaries/counter protesters (and overwhelmingly T, looking at the photos).

6 years ago there were a lot of lesbians behind the 'L with the T' counter protest including me.

Most of us now realise what is being taken from us. We've also had 6 years of gleeful AGPs identifying into our lesbian spaces and we've had enough.

If this goes off without incident, I hope it might signal a way forward for other LGB groups too - obviously running alternative Pride events completely separately is a common (and sensible) solution, but standing up to Pride organisers like this and calling for recognition and legitimacy of GC lesbians is a really important step in showing the world that same-sex attraction is as valid as any other sexual orientation.

This is brilliant, though I am amazed you managed to get the pride team to agree to it!

Wonderful to hear you have trans-identified female members. They need feminism more than anyone and I’m sure a female only feminist space will be very beneficial regarding their distress. It is very brave for them to reach out and there just aren’t enough organisations who include them. So many ‘woman-only’ services include trans-identified males whilst excluding transmen and other trans-identified females. It’s a disgrace. Keep up the good work 💐

Unfortunately, after complaints from anti-woman extremists, Pride has now rejected Sisters Salon. They have also published a defamatory statement linking Sisters Salon with hostility to trans people.

I would hazard a guess that if he had any involvement at all he would have been on the marches protesting about section 28 along with myself and many other hateful TERFs
