I posted on this thread:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5087040-will-there-be-any-males-in-womens-teams-at-the-olympics?page=5&reply=135903999. but I will repeat it here..
In April 2019, the Court of Arbitration of Sport declared that: 'discrimination (based on sex) is a necessary, reasonable and proportionate means of achieving the legitimate objective of ensuring fair competition and protecting the “protected class” of female athletes in those events.'
It also said: "Male puberty confers performance advantages which prevent fair competition between the sex categories.'...
The World Anti Doping Association code refers to : 'Athletes’ fundamental right to participate in doping-free sport and thus promoting fairness and equality for Athletes worldwide.
Does the 'fundamental right to participate in a fair competition not extend to women?
Athletics, Cycling, Swimming, Rowing and Rugby have all stated that participation in the Female category is limited to people who have not gone through male puberty...
so what does that leave? Football, Weightlifting, Boxing - as far as I can see, these still permit trans women to compete in the category of their choice if their testosterone levels are below with 2.5 / 5 mol/l. (I haven't retained all of the details as they do permit males who have gone through male puberty so men...)
Another one is Sailing - new rules from 1.1.2025 - so they do permit men in the female category for this year's Olympics.
There are 42 disciplines in all - maybe I need to go through them all to see where else the men in women's clothing might be hiding!!
