The Labour Women's Declaration have been campaigning within the party for at least 5 years. They have behaved impeccably - the very model of courtesy and reason and, the last time I checked, they had yet to be granted a meeting with Keir Starmer or a place at the official party conference.

From the outside the whole running of the Labour Party is like some old fashioned grace and favour country squire.

You must keep on bowing and nodding to the untouchable leader and he may occassionally acknowledge you with a slight tilt of the head.

But mainly you are background to the important in-group who run the Labour machine as a hard line faction.
