I don't get how Labour are repeatedly allowed to claim that the current GRC process is "inhumane". How is it inhumane, how is it different from anyone else who has to deal with bureaucracy?

because to get one you have to jump through several (not especially onerous) hoops. Can see a hung parliament and the deal will be a minority gov. propped up by the SNP-the price of which will be self ID.

Looking forward to seeing this topic discussed on the televised debates leading up to the election.

Viewing figures and media coverage will be high.

My thoughts too

I think once Labour are in and they get the majority that is expected they will be able to put through whatever changes they want unimpeded. In Scotland I don’t think the ‘price’ will be self ID, Labour are 100% on board with self ID so they are as eager as SNP, Greens, LibDems. In Scotland the GRR wasn’t compatible with the EQA 2010 so it’s not hard to amend the EQA so be compatible with the Scot GRR. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if they get rid of the PC of ‘Sex’ and replace with ‘Gender’ then they can update the GRA so it pretty much mimics the Scot GRR. Where would the pushback come from anyone to stop Labour doing this? Apart from Rosie Duffield, would any other Labour MP vote against these reforms given a three line whip?

Can someone explain to me how single ‘biological’ sex spaces can be provided if all records of sex identity - passport, driving licence, birth certificate, etc, can be legally falsified?

How can you prove it? Do they want the ‘genital checks’ at the door?

Do they want the ‘genital checks’ at the door?

Surely no more than was ever the case

Provided the presenter doesn't shut down any debate and/or interrupt or shut down one side.

That was painful to watch. I almost felt sorry for him. Then I realised how this evasion and dishonesty is an insult to all of us.
How dare this slippery bastard wriggle and evade and dare to ask for our votes?
labour can get to fuck. Smug, patronising, privileged men who think they can fob us off and indulge their idiotic foibles once in power. They’re disgusting.

I don't think anyone is, in good faith, imagining anything like genital checks. Like many laws, they rely on people following the laws (such as wearing a seat belt and not driving under the influence of substances that impact on judgment).

There needs to be an available record regarding everyone's natal sex and this needs to be accessible to those responsible for governing and policing access to single sex provision.

It's not that difficult.

I think all kinds of GDPR issue arise in relation to recording gender identity (in what circumstances is this info NEEDED). In turn, if sex recorded isn't natal sex, again, a case needs to be made as to why we should need to disclose it/ have it recorded.

I think the long term outcome of this will be very few documents recording sex or gender. The gender ideologues will hate that!
