Missed this a few days ago but wow. Just wow.

The irony of Ugla being non-binary they/them but surname literally meaning Jon’s daughter.

As is traditional in Iceland children are named first name then X (Father’s name) followed by the suffix dottír or sson depending on whether they are a son or daughter…so male or female.

How can "Ugla" be non binary when he's a trans identified man?🤔

Datun · 24/05/2024 16:13

It just goes to show. Even with the vast amounts of enthusiastic spin that Ugla puts on that, it still makes JKR sound completely normal, rational and reasonable. And Ugla completely daft.

One of the first commenters even attributes these articles as the reason he agrees with JKR in the first place 😁

Owl opines:

^It is worth mentioning that Lucy Clark has done nothing wrong, or anything to warrant this attention..."

Somehow managing to miss the fact that Clark sent a large number of bullying, threatening and abusive tweets to women.

Ditto Irish Gaelic names. Ó or Mac for males, Ní or Nic for females, i.e. 'son of/daughter of'. No apostrophes!
Obvs I also abhor people dissing JKR.

Was Ugla born male? Or rather, should I say, is this article written by a male TRA?

Prominent trans identified activists are totally consumed by their identity and trying to protect or defend it. This is why the frequently reported claims that their "existence is being denied" must make everything seem like a life and death struggle for them. When your identity is totally dependent for its existence on its reception and acceptance by everyone, that is not a mentally healthy place to be.

A stable and strong identity forms the core from which a personality radiates outward. A stable, healthy identity does not need to continually re-affirm itself in such obsessive ways and is not that dependent on continual affirmation.

Pandering to such obsessions simply nurtures and encourages fragility.

Great post.

Born male.

Believes that giving young people puberty blockers is no different from giving them the pill.

Metro publishes a lot of articles by this particular columnist. And the comments are always worth reading!

Ulga\Owl is male (mtf), whilst the partner Fox is female (ftm).

Both have written articles for the site and both don't like it known that they are a couple as it reduces the impact of the articles, because it doesn't look like two independent people fighting for trans rights.

Fox wrote an article with so much cognitive dissonance it was unbelievable. Fox worked in a care home for elderly trans patients and one mtf had dementia and couldn't understand why they had a female-resembling body and not their natural male body. But apparently gender dysphoria is innate!

And if commenters do comment on it the comment is deleted.

It's interesting ...I was browsing a reddit for detransitioners and some of them mentioned autogynephilia as the reason they transitioned. I wonder if the trans people that Ugla knows would be honest about their private fetishes? Probably not.

Of course. Even the heavy filters can't hide that! 😂

Datun · 24/05/2024 18:23

Pretty certain it was Fox and Owl who did a ridiculous short film, so loaded with stereotypes it was cringeworthy.

Ugla as the 'woman' (man identifying as a woman), was subjected to domestic abuse by either a man, or a woman identifying as a man (I can't remember).

The entire thing was an exercise in validation through stereotypes.

So a heterosexual couple are pissed off at the amazing
JK Rowling....who just won't shut up.😀

itsmylife7 · 24/05/2024 19:12

spelling mistake just noticed.🙄

Rubidium · 24/05/2024 20:57

I have to keep reminding myself they’re not called Ox and Fowl.

NitroNine · 25/05/2024 19:15

Ah yes. A private individual role that’s public, who courts media attention, & who’d been abusing (amongst others) JK Rowling for years (presumably thinking repeatedly using the word “troglodyte” might suggest some level of education &/or erudition rather highlighting their absence) 🙄

As for the columnist, calling them a one-trick pony is grossly offensive to equines.

theilltemperedclavecinist · 25/05/2024 20:30

Race is hereditary but sex is not?

If you did not inherit your SRY gene, Mr Owl, where do you think you got it from?

So confused. Confused
