Roz Adams' case against the Edinburgh Rape Crisis centre has been reported by the BBC when many other similar employment tribunal cases were ignored. This one's been downgraded to the Scotland page, but mumsnet users might want to click on it to send it up the rankings and prove to the BBC that this is of interest to their readers. That means there's no excuse for not covering these. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1ee39wn30xo

Rape centre worker wins tribunal over gender-critical beliefs

A tribunal found Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre had unfairly constructively dismissed Roz Adams.

Have clicked for stats - and genuine interest. Excellent outcome, thanks

I’m glad both BBC and Guardian have covered the actual news.

BBC article fairly complete and impartial.

Guardian article stated Roz Adams was “unfairly dismissed” not constructively dismissed and said it was due to her “questioning rules about a trans-female counsellor working with a female survivor” 🤦‍♀️Do they have editors?

Neither of the articles highlighted the Tribunal’s remarks about the CEO and other decision maker (cannot be arsed spell-checking their names) failing to give evidence in spite if being the architects of the wrongdoing.

Still, at least it’s been covered in MSM.

trans-female?

I think this expression arose at the time of high TWAW - when many women/feminists conceded the words ‘woman’ and ‘girl’ to men and boys, but differentiated the sexes with the words ‘female’ and ‘male’ in order to be able to still talk about women’s needs and rights. This concession immediately led to the term ‘trans female’. Give an inch and they take a mile.

The BBC and the Guardian? Truly these times are After Cass

afluffle · 22/05/2024 10:40

Haha, but it'll still be a long time before I give them any of my money again.

Is a trans-female a girl or boy? Actually, I don't care, I'll stick to my language, simples.

The Guardian begging pop ups have got increasingly QAnon. I rarely bother with them but I still have recipes bookmarked and Houseplant of the week I keep an eye on (I keep hoping one day it'll be Starmer).

Too little too late for the BBC and the Guardian. If they can lie/obfuscate about the trans issue they can lie/obfuscate about anything. They gave lost my trust for ever.

Edited

In this particular case, they are trying to say 'non-binary woman' in a way that looks less ridiculous.
