Great discussion on Radio 4 re teaching of trans ideology in schools - but as ever presenter sides with the pro-trans ideology callers!

I can't believe I missed the obvious. You can listen to the programme here:

Have had a quick look at TwitterX (which I know isn't representative) but no acknowledgement of Andrea, and lots of its just a Tory culture war / a rerun of Section 28.

And unfortunately some do remember the caller who gave wrong legal information, which is no being taken as fact, eg:

... Shocking revelation from that caller, that the Education Department has issued such a misleading statement about gender legislation. That alone should convince people that this government doesn't know what's talking about. #bbcaq ...

TwitterX is hopeless. So many people loudly shouting that IT’S NOT HAPPENING and NOPE, TOTAL LIES and THIS ISN’T A THING IN MY KID’S SCHOOL, THEREFORE IT DOESN’T EXIST. Complete refusal to consider for one second the people who quietly interject to say ‘er, but it is happening, my child actually had the ‘genderbread person’ lesson’ or whatever.

I listened to the programme this afternoon and after hearing several teachers calling in to give their thoughts on the subject, I'm now definitely of the opinion that, no, we can't leave teachers to use their own judgement on the teaching of this subject.

yy, the teacher who spoke with a shake in his voice* as he vehemently asserted his allyship, I wouldn't want him round any child. Nope.

*very like Mark Drakeford shaking with anger at uppity women.
