I was forwarded this. It asks about sex education and also your views on teaching on transgender issues in schools. Questions are basic but lots of free text space.

don’t know if others have seen or want to fill in.

National survey

The chat is a conversation with parents and carers about where, what, when, why and how children and young people learn about relationships, sexual health and parenthood. Thank you for visiting and…

Yeah, I did it for one child but got so carried away for the second I needed to type out on word before sending.

I can send them a fucking essay!

TrumpetOfTheMatriarchy · 14/05/2024 22:24

Ahem, I seem to have completed the survey as a non Scottish resident ....

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 15/05/2024 00:01

Excellent thank you!
That was quite cathartic

ArabellaScott · 15/05/2024 09:44

It's a good opportunity to comment. Free text boxes, and even if they look small, you can it seems type as much as you want.

SingingSands · 15/05/2024 11:11

Completed

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 15/05/2024 16:17

Bumping this up!

Oh whoops, me too! In my defence I didn't really know I had to be one until I was asked which LA I belonged to... 😉

Bump for the evening

JanesLittleGirl · 15/05/2024 21:42

I don't get too hung up. I read "cis" as real and "trans" as pretend.

Have you seen the lessons? They're all online if you google rshp Scottish schools. The lessons are terrible! Never mind the fact they include transgender. The PowerPoints are terrible, the follow up tasks are useless and some of the images are far too much for children. Look at the p5 lessons for example. The friendship lessons seem more suited to p2 but then they're subjected to a large screen open leg image when they do body parts. I've had children who could not cope with that image. How was that promoting body positivity? The whole thing needs chucked in the bin!

'As part of our RSHP (Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood) learning, we are learning about gender stereotypes. The children will learn that they can be whatever kind of girl or boy they want to be – with interests and ambitions that show them to be unique individuals. In our learning across lots of different subjects and activities we want girls and boys to be and feel equal and treat each
other with respect. We will also learn that some people would like to have a different gender from the one they have been brought up in, this is called being transgender.'

So they're learning that if a girl doesn't want to conform to stereotypes, that girl is 'transgender'?

https://rshp.scot/second-level/

'Learning at this Level is likely to be for children in P5, P6 and P7, but it can be earlier or later for some.'

Second Level - RSHP

Learning at this level is likely to be for children in P5, P6 and P7 but it can be earlier or later for some. It is the role of the teacher/facilitator to decide when a child or group should be learning at this level.

ArabellaScott · 16/05/2024 14:14

'If a person describes themselves as transgender (sometimes people just say trans) they feel that the sex they were born doesn’t match how they feel inside.
So, a transgender woman lives as a woman today, but was born a boy. A transgender man lives as a man today but was born a girl.'

ArabellaScott · 16/05/2024 14:18

Interestingly, even when they're basing teachings on factual information they fuck it up:

'Q: Do girls get erections?
A: Girls don’t get erections because they don’t have penises.'

Correct that girls don't have penises, however the clitoris is composed of erectile tissue, and stiffens when aroused.

The whole resource is a bit of a mish mash, to be honest, with plenty of contradictory and plain befuddling information.

Yup.

Well it would seem that we've had some success with this shit show as 16 areas are being rewritten but that little weasel Ross greer is trying to force it through because it covers consent and we need to think about the women and girls and the violence they suffer🤬🤬🤬🤬 so we should ignore all the other dangerous pro trans crap and age inappropriate content.

Yes we need decent sex Ed around consent but for this man to use women and girls to push his dangerous crap😡🤬🤬. Still the guidance won't go live this year and it's being massively rewritten so it's a win🥳

Ross Greer urges SNP Government adopt school sex education guide he helped write

Scottish Greens Education spokesman Ross Greer helped to write the draft policy which some parents thought focused too much on LGBT issues instead of religion and disability.

ArabellaScott · 28/03/2025 20:53

'Mr Greer called on the government to adopt this guidance before August when the new school year starts. He said: "Violence against women and girls is rampant across society and sadly our schools are no exception. Twice as many girls feel unsafe at school because of sexism as they did a decade ago. Teaching all pupils, but especially boys and young men, about the importance of consent is essential to tackling this and making our schools safer. It cannot wait any longer.'

Hey, Ross, have you heard about the girls who don't drink water all day because they are scared to go into the gender feckin neutral toilets?

How are you even defining 'girl', there, anyway, you absolute plum.

Oh dear, Ross Greer.

Girls, you have the right to autonomy, you deserve to be safe, no means no.

Unless you want that from boys who think they're girls, in which case, you're worse than ten thousand Hitlers, you vile creatures!
