I am a man, I know I am a man

I want to be a woman. I know I can't be a woman.

But what I can do is try to convince everyone to call me a woman. Ok, all well and good, and until the recent successes in the courts the Mermaids/ Stonewall axis was keeping this line steady ...

But ultimately it's self destroying. It's King Midas, or Samson destroying the temple.

Because by asking everyone to call me a woman, to accept me as a woman... we must, as a society, change the definition of what a woman is.

And that is not what I want, I don't want to be a "new" or an "artificial" woman, I want to be a proper woman.

If I don't get society to agree, I remain a man. But if I do, I become a pseudo-woman.

I will never get what I want. Ever.

(Not me for real, obviously. I'm adopting a voice. Tchoh!)

Hence the devastation when it becomes clear that they've fooled nobody but themselves. That truth after months or even years of being lied to must hurt like hell. Lies are not kind.

In addition it must be so hard going about your daily life and how you feel about each interaction depending not only on whether someone is prepared to pretend but even if they jump through the right pretending hoops whether they do that convincingly (to your satisfaction) or not.

@nepeta Yes. Identifying as a woman but not being with women was really my starting point of awakening. And its gotten worse as we have gone along, they seem mostly against women.

I've always thought in an alternate universe where all this had been handled differently from the start, the results would be very different.

Imagine the alternate universe if everyone had totally got on board with gender ideology. Imagine that we all agree that men can self identify as women and access everything that used to be just for women. Imagine what that would look like.

No female sports for starters.

That IW tweet made me think that IW might actually really think he is a woman, with XX chromosomes, not a transwoman. But if he has fathered a child (unless he is actually psychotic) then that can't be the case. I don't follow anything about him much. Does he say anywhere that he "identifies" as a transwoman?

And if he has a cervix, where does he keep it?

In a jar by the door with Eleanor Rigby's face.

RayonSunrise · 12/05/2024 19:00

...who is it for?

Also IW's child is a son (according to the internet) therefore that Y chromosome his son has could only have come from IW so he must have XY chromosomes.

theDudesmummy · 12/05/2024 23:36

Well if he has a son where does he say the Y chromosome came from?

Starting off by pointing out the heterogeneity of people with trans identities. On FWR there is lots of focus on those who give the impression that they have unstable personalities (personality disorders) so my response is in relation to this group (as opposed to those with autism or gender dysphoria).

Treatment for gender dysphoria used to operate from the open position of natal sex being immutable but treatment can involve making social, and sometimes physical, changes to relieve symptoms. His provided a coherent framework for 'transitioning'.

The idea that trans identities are not part of a condition that causes distress but instead are part of normal variation brings with it multiple inconsistencies and incoherence.

If males think they are females, they either misunderstand the sex binary or are deluded. It's as simple as that.

If males don't think they are females, but want to pretend to themselves they are, they should be helped to accept that it is not reasonable to assume that everyone will go along with the pretence. Some will, some won't, and there are many different reasons as to why.

I expect the extent to which they accept the above will relate to the underlying causes as to why they want to pretend to themselves and/or others that they are female.

I think that posters on FWR, when posting about trans people, often have in mind those who likely meet the criteria for being diagnosed with a personality disorder.

I bet you a pound to a penny IW would argue the Y chromosome could have come from the mother, because she hasn't been tested either.
