Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

I suspect that if some enterprising journalists did a deep dive into the backgrounds and associates of these very grim adults, we'd see numerous connections to the organisations that regularly feature as seeking to remove safeguarding protections for children. Maybe starting with WPATH and their association with eunuchs?

ArabellaScott · 09/05/2024 23:00

Reduxx have already done some brave work on WPATH and their various unsavoury members.and connections.

bluebeardswife7 · 09/05/2024 23:21

I love how the fact a wall smothered with porn is normal 🙄

Sunnyjac · 10/05/2024 05:47

It’s utter madness

I wonder if this even would have made it into the Guardian a few months ago. Between this and the article about the dangers of unregulated hormone treatments on children, it feels like a regular drip-drip of stories that will bring their readership towards saying, "Hey, wait a minute..."

FrancescaContini · 10/05/2024 06:43

I had exactly the same thought, @Sunnyjac

Sunnyjac · 10/05/2024 07:01

@RayonSunrise very true, we can but hope

This statement though!

Kate Mulholland, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Whilst the victims in this case all seemingly consented to surgeries and amputations, the victim who bravely reported his assault to the police expressed serious regret regarding his procedure and the lasting impact it has had upon him. This clearly emphasises why such practices are unlawful.”

Sunnyjac · 10/05/2024 13:12

@CheeseChamp you’d think it would be obvious people need psychological input in these cases!

That is so heartbreaking. What led them there? What did they read or see on the internet? What grooming did they experience? It’d have to be someone lacking in confidence and boundaries and a strong sense of themselves. Exploited by sick and twisted fetishists.

The whole 'eunuch' thing is a bit of a headache for trans apologists.

On one level they should theoretically embrace it whole heartedly. If gender's just a performance as per Butler, why not dispense 'perform' as something neither male nor female? Indeed some clinics in the US offer 'nullification' or 'nullo' surgery which amounts to the same thing (all outward genitals are removed completely, leaving patients with the Ken/Barbie look other than a small urethral opening).

I suppose a trans apologist could argue that 'nullo' surgery is a proper surgical procedure(itself a stretch but let's go with it for now) whereas DIY 'eunuch making' is not. However this is the same activist group which calls for parents to buy PBs and cross-sex hormones for their 'trans' teens on the dark web if they can't access a prescription.

In this area as in so many others, the TRA movement cannot get its story straight and it's artful, years-long disguising of a self mutilation cult as a proper medical field, once again is showing cracks.

PurpleBugz · 13/05/2024 16:26

The numbers of visitors to that website is sickening.

I note it's not his fault though this behaviour was triggered by the breakup of his marriage....

Plasticwaste · 23/07/2025 17:50

... Hopper?!

lcakethereforeIam · 23/07/2025 17:54

😃

ErrolTheDragon · 23/07/2025 18:34

I’d just come across that bizarrely horrifying case too.

lcakethereforeIam · 23/07/2025 20:58

It put me in mind of children and otherwise vulnerable people being (sorry MN but I can't think of a better way of putting it) groomed into all sorts of situations. The grooming gangs, being encouraged into suicide, gender confusion. Also how men, it's usually men, putting themselves into positions where they can more easily indulge their proclivities. This man, Dr Hopper, carried out amputations as a Doctor. Find a job you love and never work a day in your life. All those men with trans identities in WPATH, even doing the surgeries. Pushing for restrictions to be removed. Age limits to be lowered.

Slothtoes · 23/07/2025 21:16

Came on here to post the same BBC link above as lcakethereforeIam. Wow I mean there is a VERY stark difference in tone when it’s someone’s legs being chopped off. Seriously hope these men have not removed any body parts of any kind unnecessarily from any patients. How horrific. It’s all horrific.

NameChangedOfc · 23/07/2025 21:26

They are a mixed bunch, these ones: loons, psychos and sadists.

ETA: Sorry, meant to quote Arabella, about the WPATH. (Although loons, psychos and sadists apply very well to many people in this issue).

Sorry this seems so inappropriate and probably why it was taken away. But I’m missing the laugh reaction so bad here.

He's been found guilty

Surgeon Neil Hopper admits fraud over amputation of own legs - BBC News https://share.google/7JdJgaQfazQoj2IJn

The court heard Hopper had a "sexual interest in amputation".

I know the court said there was no concern over patient care but if he'd been my doctor, if he'd amputated something of mine I'd be feeling sick right now.

Hopefully he was just the surgeon (although the idea of a procedure going in his mental wank bank is just 🤢) and had little or nothing to do with diagnosis or treatment pathway.

The picture shows a person seated in a living room. They are wearing a blue shirt and have prosthetic legs. The room includes a coffee table and sofa.

Surgeon Neil Hopper admits fraud over amputation of own legs

Neil Hopper claimed that injuries to his legs were the result of sepsis and not self-inflicted.

It's from May 2024. I wonder if it was on an Observer day?

I was thinking 'Neil' was a bit apposite too.

Why did Operation Spanner flicker across what's left of my consciousness ?
