A good chunk of the new album is about her / creatives relationship with fame and the press, being compared to other women, being put up on an impossible pedestal and held to unrealistic account. The 'problem' with TS is the layers and complexity of her songs, the rabbit hole that links them all and on first listen they appear to be about one thing, but in fact they are about something completely different.

As for writing about relationships with men, most songs throughout history are about that written by both sexes, it's the thread that bind us through riches, ages and through time, emotions are emotions and they are universal.

Good post

I can't think of another song that has been as joyfully liberating for girls as 'shake it off'. The antithesis of 'be kind'.

Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.

I had the TS lawsuit against the radio DJ slightly wrong. She spoke out saying he put his hand on her ass and kept it there, he got crap about it and sued Taylor calling her a liar. So she countersued for $1, it went to trial and she won. And good for her! I am a fourth wave femist and was reading the transcript and was so proud of this young lady. I am sure she was told to ignore it, that this is what comes with fame, but she took a stand for all women and outed the pig who thought he had the right to (as Taylor put it) "had a handful of my ass". Let's give her credit for this, ffs!
