I've two problems with the article. Firstly, and probably for legal reasons, imo it's far to circumspect. It's happened, it is a thing. The Scottish NHS and many other institutions are dancing to the tra tune. Secondly, it seems to let the Greens entirely off the hook.

'Research by The Telegraph has identified more than 70 occasions in which partisan LGBT campaigners have been given roles allowing them influence over gender care in Scotland’s health service, despite a lack of any medical training or expertise.'

'Among the examples of activists’ influence in Scotland are formal roles in setting long-awaited trans treatment rules for Scotland, writing policies which would erode rights to single-sex hospital wards and being funded to run mental health services.
Scottish Trans, an influential lobby group, has also claimed credit for having the Scottish NHS sign up to controversial treatment rules set by the US body <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/ZnPrD/www.telegraph.co.uk/columnists/2024/03/12/leaks-us-gender-group-wpath/" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">WPATH, which Dr Cass denounced in her review and said should not be used by the health service.'

'Unnamed representatives from the “third sector”, including LGBT Youth Scotland, have also been allowed to help shape Scotland’s new, as yet unpublished, gender reassignment protocol.

The same will be true of the advisory groups, specialist commissioning groups, oversight and governance boards in NHS England.

That observation was made as soon as the announcement was made about the closure of GIDS and the regional centres: posters here commented that GI sympathisers were already in place and would influence the children's centres and the adults'.

Nobody who made those observations or saw who was recruited is surprised that the leaders of 6/7 adult clinics refused to release their data.

I kind of expected this , while simultaneously thinking they can't possibly...? If the SNP insist on taking this route, to placate the Greens, I can only hope when the Scottish NHS gets sued there will be a massive amount of evidence of wilful ignorance to put before the court.

TRAs are embedded in most relevant commissioning groups throughout the various NHS (England, Scotland, Wales and the NHS-like organisation called something else in NI) and organisations. They're called experts by experience or people with lived experience there.
