Interview with happy patient and whistle-blower.

Patient hannah "struggles to associate with report... Not listening to trans community, forcing how it should happen...trying to make cookie cutter for parhway" host pointing out that is what Cass is objecting to.

Hannah "Worrying this is an extra barrier - someone with autism might (not be allowed to apply)." Host talking sense.

Whistle-blower "Many of children I've seen have quote complex backgrounds....help them become interested in all of their lives sometimes their interest in gender dissapears....I know it is frustrating for people who want yo get there quickly but it is a good approach".

Why whistle-blower?

"After someone who was only there for four apps recommended for hormone treatment- I was shocked."

Hannah was very positive experience.

Says lots of info about danger of puberty blockers. Host pointing out no-one knows long term. Hannah disputing this.

Hannah had final say (about trans being excluded from chess) but was generally challenged. Far too short but a good item - well worth watching.

There was a lot I didn't get down so do watch if you can. Hopefully there will be a transcript available at somepoint. I felt Hannah got to speak most but she was actually being gently challenged so didn't mind massively. And I'm glad she had a good experience - I wish everyone had.

Much of Cass is about teen girls with complex comorbidity issues who represent the meteoric rise in referrals over the last decade.

How actually useful is it that the media seem to have been platforming transactivist male people all day as the other side of the debate?

i think that is what strikes me - all very well for people who have been transitioned for five/ seven/ maybe even ten years to say their experience is positive, but what about twenty years on? Thirty, or forty years on? We just have no idea what toll this would take on long term health, do we?

I have developed a tic whereby whenever I now hear 'they are not listening to trans community' I say FFS.

We are talking about the NHS providing healthcare. Best practice involves listening to the experiences to service users in order to help improve services, not to inform clinical decision making FFS.

The CASS report moves us towards children experiencing gender distress receiving proper holistic care but this is being rejected by a deluded sense that they are better clinical decision makers than a group of experienced healthcare professionals applying the same standards of care to trans healthcare as to the healthcare of every other group ......FFS

And, I think, directly at Newsnight who did an interview with Graham which was basically an ambush. Where Graham looked extremely nervous and was presented as a madman who was speaking up where he wasn't wanted in a hyperbolic way drawing parallels with the Nazis. It was very uncomfortable viewing.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Once again it's all about the AMAB. Hannah has said Hannah doesn't have any experience about autism or anxiety, which are key points - so let's hear from someone who does. Let's have an AFAB in the room, in the spirit of inclusion and diversity.
