Following the publication of the Cass report?

I'm a senior HCP and have been carefully emphasising the need to record sex medical accurately for months now, and have received, what I take to be, knowing looks and quietly supportive nods in return.

So I'm not out out, but I am sure that people are aware of my views. I'm also certain that I'm not alone.

Looking at social media today, I've seen people from my network posting media articles, but so far no comments.

My hunch is that a lot of us would like to discuss the issues publicly and in our own names, but are still hesitant because the debate is likely to remain toxic for a while, and could still impact our careers (and distress some patients).

Just wondered what other people's thoughts were and what it would take for you to speak out?

SoVeryTiredAndEmotional the fact that your NHS trust is continuing to support the wholesale abuse of children would be of interest to the SoS for health. If I spot a similar thing in my trust I’m going to take a screenshot and send to the SOS for health referencing the Cass Review. From the HoC debate yesterday VA did indicate regulators were looking into the behaviour and actions of HCPs involved in the GIDS. The more we do expose what’s happening in our trusts the quicker this gets exposed and rooted out.

Utterly brilliant @DameMaud - Going to share this with lots of people. Love the level of detail and clarity - so accessible and covers all key points (with admirable modesty!!)

I work in an NHS trust. They have put out a statement saying that they recognise that colleagues may need 'additional support' and 'a safe place' to discuss how they are doing and the impact of the report. This includes our trans colleagues, friends and those with trans children. They have suggested reaching out to talk, and posted links to Mermaids and Gendered intelligence.
No mention of any acknowledgment of the report findings, protecting children etc. I'm really quite shocked.

Fucking. Hell.

@SoVeryTiredAndEmotional .... GOSH!!!!!

My guess is that that will get retracted very quickly ... totally agree with others about sending to SoS.. and potentially a couple of others like Baroness Nicholson. As a screenshot with time and date, so anonymous if that is what you understandably need...

And wow... big hugs... how very very disturbing and challenging it must be for you working in that atmosphere. Hold onto the fact that you are making things better for children and young people by being brave....

@lemonstolemonade I have been stewing on it all week, and would really like to respond to someone in the hospital at the very least. I’m just not sure where to start. I don’t think I’d be able to coherently get my point across (and, probably more importantly, but very frustratingly, I worry about their response and my job!)
Is it something the Health Secretary would be interested in?

Edited

This is the thing isn't it? These spaces for colleagues to talk safely just don't exist for people who don't believe in gender ideology. I know two people off sick with investigations ongoing because they simply asked questions in a steering group meeting.

Edited to add obviously this was before Cass review but the fear is still there.

I’ve discovered quite a few NHS trusts are aligned to the charity TransActual and this is what they have to say about the Cass Review

Can you collect any and post them without it being a giveaway?

It might be useful information for Sex Matters or such?

Isn't TransActual run by Jane Fae? Overkeen on extreme porn and films about murdering real live women along with campaigning to remove certain aspects of safeguarding children?

Why do they lump lesbian with trans. So called ‘trans women who are lesbians’ are actively erasing my sexuality, pressuring lesbians into taking them on as partners via social stigma.

the fact that none of these scumbag LGBT societies acknowledges it is a form of support for corrective rape.

Has anyone's NGO, NHS Trust or comparable health or social care organisation walked anything back, issued a statement supportive of Cass etc.?

I can say there has not been anything that I've seen.

I've a feeling everyone is either supporting staff networks (not GC ones) or keeping a low profile until there's a change of government. After that, I wouldn't be too surprised if there's something like The Purge.

No nothing down my way. The exec team had an open forum and referenced Cass with some faux bewilderment (or maybe they actually were unaware....but that's odd cos I know for sure at least one person wrote an excellent letter stuffed with factoids).

After the exec meeting I wrote to FTSU guardian referenced cass and the exec boards comments as i was concerned they appeared ill informed..she replied and asked if I wanted her to forward my concerns to EDI. I replied and told her not to bother, that is the origin of all our problematic policy and guidance.

EDI pages are all gender and gender identity now, no mention of sex at all - women were fully erased from these pages in last couple of months.

It’s like where I am - I had a look on the staff pages - all the articles/news items for the past year are rainbow related.
