I saw this on X. Jen was the disabled woman who was arrested in Gwent for putting up stickers. She decided to take Gwent Police to court for wrongful arrest. It appears the police have folded and some compensation is now being offered.

Yay, I saw her post on X earlier.
Bloody good for her !

EmpressaurusOfTheScathingTinsel · 09/04/2024 18:50

Excellent.

Such good news. I think someone's told the Welsh police to get their act together.

Last year the women who'd been running bridge protests in the Carmarthen area had their banners ripped down by a policeman who said he was doing it because someone might find it offensive. When they did it this year a police car drove past and the officer gave them a thumbs-up.

Imnobody4 · 09/04/2024 19:03

Great news.

IcakethereforeIam · 09/04/2024 19:03

Lovely flowers too.

KohlaParasaurus · 09/04/2024 19:04

Excellent, and no more than she deserves after all that needless stress.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/04/2024 19:11

Fantastic news. She was treated abominably.

DOBARDAN · 09/04/2024 19:11

Good to hear, whooop whooop for Jen

GeorgeOrwellsTurningGrave · 09/04/2024 19:17

As ever, the process is the punishment for women. So pleased to see that the police are paying up.

viques · 09/04/2024 19:24

I hope she spends it with much joy.

IwantToRetire · 09/04/2024 19:43

When I saw the title of this thead I thought oh no, what has happened now.

But it is good news! Just brilliant and huge respect for Jen Swane for having the bravery and guts to keep going, without much public support from others.

And yes the flowers are brilliant.

I hope although not making up for her treatment, Jen herself gets some satisfaction from this.

Fantastic..

LarkLane · 09/04/2024 20:45

I'm pleased for her. How ridiculous and bullying they were.

She is extremely modest in what she asked for as settlement. It should buy a few more stickers.

pickledandpuzzled · 09/04/2024 20:48

Well done Jen! You were treated shockingly badly. It’s shocking and shameful you needed to challenge it.

Propertylover · 09/04/2024 21:27

So pleased to hear this.

TrainedByCatsToBeScathing · 09/04/2024 22:23

Lovely news, I wouldn’t have been as reasonable in my request.

NotBadConsidering · 09/04/2024 22:51

Hopefully she can give Dwayne an upgrade.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/04/2024 00:29

Good news, it was appalling how they treated her, a disabled woman.

AtrociousCircumstance · 10/04/2024 00:31

Great news! What a brave woman 💜🤍💚

Joolsin · 10/04/2024 00:33

Hooray, excellent news - huge respect to Jen.

MeDaughterMerope · 10/04/2024 01:05

The transcript for her police interview was comedy gold. Does anyone have the link again? I'd like to send it to dp.

OnlyLoveCanBreakYourHeart · 10/04/2024 01:22

It was a ridiculous case from the start, poor Jen for what they put her through. Glad sense has prevailed.

Fenlandia · 10/04/2024 05:47

Thanks OP, more good news to go with the Cass report.
