Many supposedly specialist sex educators know nothing about children, safeguarding or basic common sense. These organisations exist in a weird subculture where extreme acts are normalised, children are treated like small adults and the law has no business meddling in private sexual matters. Not “judging” is mandated even about illegal acts. Why don’t schools vet these organisations properly before hiring them?
And why do schools think an external organisation is required at all? What obscure information do schools think children need to learn that requires an outside specialist? What personal or embarrassing topics are being raised that make a school decide it is inappropriate for a staff member to facilitate (or in this case, attend)?
If the content isn’t appropriate for teachers, why is it appropriate for pupils?
