Gender GP clinic accepts donation from a 'sugar daddy'

'A private clinic that has vowed to defy an NHS directive banning the prescription of puberty blockers to children accepted a £20,000 donation from a “sugar daddy” who paid a male YouTuber thousands of pounds to behave like a submissive girl.
...
Among those who have given money to the fund is an anonymous American donor who gave $25,000 (£20,000) as part of a joint donation with a British YouTuber whom he paid to be his online “sugar baby”, The Times can reveal.

The donor, who goes by the pseudonym Tenmuses, gave F1nn5ter, a YouTuber from Birmingham with over half a million subscribers, thousands of pounds to undergo laser hair removal, wear an outfit with the words “Daddy’s princess” written on it and sit in a child’s chair when he disobeyed his commands.

Tenmuses also offered him money to strip on camera and undergo breast implant surgery, both of which he declined.'

Thought this merited its own thread.

GenderGP run by Helen Webberley and her husband, Michael Webberley.

Helen Webberley:

'A doctor who ran an online clinic for transgender children has been suspended from practising for two months by a medical tribunal.
Dr Helen Webberley put three patients at "unwarranted risk of harm" by failing to provide good clinical care.
The patients, aged 11, 12 and 17, were transitioning from female to male.
The tribunal found her fitness to practise was also impaired by reason of a 2018 conviction for running an unregistered medical agency.'

Michael Webberley:

'A retired consultant gastroenterologist has been struck off the UK medical register for “wide ranging failings” in treating young transgender patients and in prescribing testosterone for men.
Michael Webberley, who was charged with failing to provide good care to 24 patients, acted outside the limits of his expertise, a medical practitioners tribunal concluded.
Through the private online clinic GenderGP, which he ran with his wife Helen, a GP, Webberley prescribed puberty blockers to a child of nine and cross sex hormones to a teenager who died by suicide a few months later.
He faced charges over his care of seven transgender patients, and the tribunal found that he had provided treatment that was not clinically indicated or that had been prescribed without adequate tests, assessments, or examinations. He had reached diagnoses of gender dysphoria based on …'

Glad you've started this thread @ArabellaScott - this has been mentioned on a few other threads but definitely merits its own thread.

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/03/2024 21:39

Just seen this on Twitter.

I’ve often thought that there’s something potentially exploitative with all these Crowdfunders. I imagine there’s a pressure to ‘show off the handiwork’ when you’ve donated money to help people cut body parts off or implant body parts. People like to see what they’ve invested in. Frightening stuff.

ArabellaScott · 18/03/2024 22:46

It seems GenderGP have been letting staff go, recently, and have apparently moved to automated systems.

This has led to protests at how they were treating staff (see Glassdoor), and many clients cancelling their regular payments (see reddit).

I think there was also a recent employment tribunal for disability discrimination?

NitroNine · 18/03/2024 23:45

TRAs are outraged - outraged - at this doxing but despite that are of course responding in calm & rational fashion.

What is that deranged stream of consciousness about?

StealthSpinach · 19/03/2024 01:03

Who has been doxxed?
I can’t follow this - my brain hurts.

ArabellaScott · 19/03/2024 06:36

Newspapers have reported on the story. I assume that's what they mean by 'doxx'. Because they thought millions of people watching a publically available youtube video is someow a private corner of the Internet?

I think it's more that their deep solipsism mean they cannot fathom people disagreeing with them.

Yes, possibly ongoing? Not sure.

So my post was deleted for saying the words 'child abuse'...

Is this not child abuse?

"Dr Helen Webberley put three patients at "unwarranted risk of harm" by failing to provide good clinical care.
The patients, aged 11, 12 and 17..."

ArabellaScott · 19/03/2024 09:30

The youtube videos are highly uncomfortable watching. It's quite clear what the motivations for the donor were.

OP posts:
NitroNine · 19/03/2024 09:47

@StealthSpinach they consider it doxing for The Times to have reported on the videos.

All very normal.

Tbh I think my post was "reported" because I annoyed the wrong TRA...

It had said that I think the following argument, used frequently by a particular TRA on this forum is shit (and a logical fallacy):

"[insert name of right winger] is gender critical, and you agree with THAT PERSON?!"

And that the gender ideology movement has all sorts of unsavoury characters associated with it too - in fact not people with differing political and religious opinions, but engage in morally questionable behaviour. Like the subject of this post, and Dr Webberley who has been prosecuted for clinical harm to minors. (Surely this isn't a deletable statement?!).

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/03/2024 10:20

If you want privacy, maybe don't have a public YouTube channel with thousands of subscribers? Just a thought.

Impressive understanding of geography and politics from Luna, there.

NitroNine · 19/03/2024 15:16

@LoobyDop I had to give up trying to make sense of the UK-US merger they’ve decided is imminent. I got as far as TwiX being abuzz with rumours of a Regency (because apparently William has murdered Catherine) & perhaps in their head Harry & Meghan’s current home & the latter’s nationality means… (see why I gave up?)

SidewaysOtter · 19/03/2024 15:21

And there was me thinking it's the GC movement that's always been accused of receiving funding from dodgy sources...

On top of that batshittery, since when did "Newspaper reports on thing posted publicly on YouTube" become doxxing? Confused

WitchyWitcherson · 19/03/2024 15:31

"On top of that batshittery, since when did "Newspaper reports on thing posted publicly on YouTube" become doxxing?"

I suppose around the same time as using correct sex pronouns became genocide 🙃

SpicyMoth · 30/03/2024 23:38

Update from the Youtuber referenced in the article;
E

Post doxxing talk Finn then goes on to talk about Gender GP and some behind the scenes things that they legally apparently can't go into much detail about?
Bit wordy for me to summarise and also a lot of straight up false "facts" being pushed, but worth a listen imo to just keep tabs on the other side of the debate.

Finn has also apparently "come out" recently as having started hormones.
So no longer cross-dressing boy streamer, now officially "trans" streamer.

ArabellaScott · 31/03/2024 09:11

So he's decided not to donate to Gender GP because so many people contacted him to point out potential issues with the profit making company that many people use as a fast way to get medication that the NHS won't supply.

Good.

OP posts:
PaperWalkAndTalk · 31/03/2024 12:13

The streamer in question was originally a Twitch streamer (so people watched him play computer games), who then decided to cross-dress for a dare, started to see the money come in, gradually started to produce more explicit content and now appears to be a in position where he is actually starting to medically transition due to the allure of the money.

Does pretty much some up the sex industry and the outside influence on people to transition.

Good.

I can't remember MN policy on pronouns off the top of my head so I'll use both to be safe just in case the Streamer has fans who for some reason come over to MN to report!

Essentially, yes - But then he(she?) started rambling towards the end about something like setting up his own organisation to "help" trans people in the UK get medication and getting private medical professionals on board/those who left gender GP.
So it's a bit of a double edged sword as far as I can tell unless I misunderstood him(her?) stumbling over himself(herself?) - Which I could have quite easily! It got progressively harder for me to follow, but then it was late and I was very tired at time of watching!
