BBC DRAG QUEEN STORY

'When drag queen Titti Von Tramp jumped on a police land rover in Belfast in March 1999 she didn't realise she was about to be part of history.'
Need I quote more? Such a lovely story about Ireland to run on 17th March, isn't it?
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-68555287
for the whole unpleasant nastiness, including photos, be warned.
It looks like they're doing a Stonewall-riots-like retrospective transing of history, and making a drag queen a symbol of the gay community in the 1990s, which is probably anachronistic..hey, there's a good drag name: Anna Chronistic!
But when we look back over the Troubles, or lesbian and gay history, in N Ireland, what iconic moment springs to mind?
"There are so many iconic moments in our story but one that stands out in everyone's mind is the night Titti Von Tramp decided to hop on top of a police Land Rover."
Words fail me.

Yeah I saw this too, and couldn't bear to read it past the first paragraph, the name felt so misogynistic it was just depressing.

Ok, I've just read the article.
So sounds like a drag queen sat on a bonnet of a car.
So what?
Drag queens can be part of LGBT too, is that what your problem is? They're not highlighting what you personally think should be an LGBT person?

The BBC repeatedly refer to drag queen as "she".

So?
Drag personas usually are referred to as she
If they're in character they're usually a she.
The article I think also refers to out of character name?

They have time to write that but not bother with any investigation of the WPATH Files (that Michael Shellenberger is on record as offering to BBC journalists at a meeting).

And to be honest, attention-seeking men in strange clothes jumping on RUC land rovers were ten a penny in 90s Belfast - it was considered to be a cultural activity and spectator sport 😉
