The BBC has ignored the WPATH leaks, this is a clear bias, ask them to cover the story, say you're a licence payer

Title says it all, BBC have deliberately ignored the WPATH leaks

If you can, please send them something, a link, a note, anything and ask them to cover the leaks in full.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/questions/getting-in-touch/send-a-story

Here's a template letter if it helps, change it to fit your thoughts

Dear Sir/Madam,

As a licence fee payer, I am writing to express my concern over the BBC's current news coverage. It has come to my attention that there has been little to no coverage on the recent leaks from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Given the significance of these leaks and their potential impact on public understanding and policy, I find it essential that an impartial and trusted news organization such as the BBC covers this story comprehensively.

The public relies on the BBC for unbiased and thorough news coverage, and it is imperative that issues of significant concern are not overlooked. I urge you to consider the importance of this matter and allocate the necessary resources to investigate and report on the WPATH leaks promptly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing your coverage in the near future.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

Thanks @HydraDominatus. I''ve done that. Used your template but changed it a bit. It struck me suddenly that there are parallels that can be drawn with thalidomide tragedy/scandal 50-ish years ago. So I said so.

Newnamepls · 11/03/2024 15:28

Thanks for this, agree it’s shocking they haven’t covered it at all. I wrote to them along those lines last week, got a standard auto-response and nothing further. I hope more people doing this, especially after Andrew Doyle’s coverage, will force them to reconsider.

Datafan55 · 11/03/2024 15:32

It's not just that! Last week no coverage of Hampstead Pond issue, or JK/IW discussion. I check BBC website umpteeen times a day.
Heavens knows how many other things I've missed/others are missing....

MrsOvertonsWindow · 11/03/2024 15:32

Excellent suggestion. The BBC do have some special journalists who are meant to cover identity / LGBT issues . They are of course extremely busy keeping up with all the drag queen shows but, given the extent of medical malpractice towards children and young people emerging from the WPATH scandal, maybe they could find a few hours to file a report? Andrew Doyle's done the groundwork for them if that helps?

How the BBC works to keep you in the dark

To our National Broadcaster, no news is good news when it comes to gender ideology. A BBC insider explains what's going on.

Can I still complain even though I'm not a licence fee payer 😆

Cauliflowery · 11/03/2024 16:04

When my littlest has grown out of Bluey I'm seriously considering giving the BEEB up. I never thought I'd get to this position, used to think they were amazing.

They did cover Hampstead ponds.

A twitter spat between JK / IW is not newsworthy.

Thank you for the kick up the arse! I've emailed them. I've added that the 'info' available across other media on this issue is not necessarily verified or accurate, so their input as a professional, long-standing and highly regulated news provider is even more important.

WitchyWitcherson · 11/03/2024 16:38

A twitter spat between JK / IW is not newsworthy.

In some ways, I guess it's promising that the beeb didn't jump on the "JKR is an evil transphobe" bandwagon, although I suspect that reporting on that with impartiality would have been labelled "transphobic" so they didn't touch it with a barge pole.

WPATH on the other hand is really, really big news. Their silence is deafening!!

WaterThyme · 11/03/2024 21:49

I just wrote.

pronounsbundlebundle · 11/03/2024 22:29

Done. I also don't pay my license fee and this sort of thing (plus Savile, etc) is why.

duc748 · 11/03/2024 22:34

I just wrote too, but I did it though the formal complaint page. It seemed like there's umpteen different ways to contact the BBC.

crunchermuncher · 11/03/2024 22:35

Is it the your [email protected] address?

I can't see where I'm supposed to send it (it's late, I'm tired).

Appalonia · 11/03/2024 22:44

It's really important we do this. This is a huge story ( and also impacts the NHS ), so it is very relevant to the UK and the BBC has a duty to report on this.

ScrollingLeaves · 11/03/2024 22:46

Thank you very much. I will write in.

Has Channel 4 News by any chance covered it?

Channel 4’s Hollyoaks ( target audience teenagers and young adults) is currently running a story about a 12 year old girl saying she is a boy and being mentored by an older transwomen. In the story this is all great, any opposition dinosaur like/bigoted.

duc748 · 11/03/2024 22:54

Embedded. Everywhere. 😦

crunchermuncher · 12/03/2024 10:57

Done!

Thanks @HydraDominatus for making this easier - I used your template as a starter then added the bit about thalidomide, and personalised it a bit.

It's so important to keep up the pressure, but so exhausting....

WitchyWitcherson · 12/03/2024 11:06

I've posted on X asking why they haven't covered it, using the #BBCYourQuestions

Thats a great idea

Runningwildish · 12/03/2024 11:25

I've emailed the link where it asks for new stories. I put in links to Sex Matters and reddux

ILikeDungs · 12/03/2024 13:37

Emailed BBC with link.

SerendipityJane · 12/03/2024 13:39

The BBC has been very selective in what it runs for years, this is no surprise.

There have been entire 100,000+ people marches in London it's never covered.

Meanwhile, if Nigel Farage farts, they are there with 2 OB units and a backup.

HydraDominatus · 14/03/2024 22:11

Please keep writing. The BBC is ignoring this and it’s essential more people know.
