Darren Merager, transwoman at centre of Wi Spa controversy

Recently arrested again. This article gives some more history of his criminal past.

Interestingly, a comment defends Merager, offering a different slant.

Merager is either a transwoman with a long string of criminal history and sexual crimes, or according to one of the comments, a persecuted victim:

The report is strange, sometimes referring to him as he and sometimes as she.

Blimey. At what point do the police keep him in custody?

It really puts it into perspective to read the full criminal history of this guy and then remember the Wi Spa video of the woman who complained getting no response from other customers and staff because he could claim to be trans.

I suppose its possible he is both an abusive criminal AND a victim of police prejudice.

That is a very confusing article, and not just because of the sex change part way through. Some of the tenses are used weirdly and towards the end I got the impression that he was wandering around the court with his penis exposed. I don't think they meant that. Did they?

Merager was in court for the hearing at the Los Angeles County Superior Court – West District – Airport location last week. Witnesses testified that Merager roamed the facility on June 23, 2021 with penis exposed. Some said it was erect, while another witness said it soft. The women said they found his presence offensive.

Meh, given that he was roaming the facility and it wasn't a brief in one place flash of his penis I've known enough men to know that it can oscillate between soft and erect and erect and soft in a very short space of time

Did they not defend him at the wi spa by saying it's fine cause it's a female penis? Makes it all fine doesn't it?

Darren has been a registered sex offender since 2003, according to the LAPD. He became she under California’s self identification law which was passed in 2017. No other changes apart from Self ID appear to have been made, although she occasionally goes by ‘Agge’ which may be her second given name.

So she is legally she in California, because she says so.

'Facility' must mean whichever swimming venue this case relates to. But it's so poorly written and there are so many incidents that I can't tell if the the current case is one of the Wi Spa charges, or the Holywood aquatic centre, or the Daytona beach, or ...

Is it though? It’s prejudice if you assume he’s a criminal because he’s trans, or if you assume someone is a criminal because they are black. But if you’re staring at a rap sheet as long as your arm, it doesn’t seem prejudice motivating your assessment that they are a criminal…

Well, not unless you're trying to argue that a sex crime isn't a sex crime if the perpetrator has a stated TQ+ self identification.

I have noticed that everyone is picking on Miss Merager. She is following the law, that is what respectable citizens do. The complainers in these posts should direct their attention to the state legislators and then change the law, that is what respectable citizens do. No one is buying this erection story when no one ever had this complaint in the first place. We don't body shame people and we don't pick on people genitalia, that would be body shaming on top of sexual harassment. We don't measure the size of a penis in a locker room any more that we measure the size of the breasts of the obviously oversized augmented women. I noticed that nobody did that.

At this point in time, I can't tell if this is satire or not.

I cannot understand what you are trying to say. Did you miss the part where Darren is a known sex offender who has committed multiple crimes? Crimes… by definition, means NOT following the law. You may not care about women but don’t you have any thoughts about whether children should be protected from predatory men who want to expose their penis to them?
