What is it coming to that I'm actually relieved it was at least still a majority on the side of reality?

Well, all I can say is that I hope you haven't got QWERTY imprinted on your forehead!

This was discussed on another thread, recently and it turned out that quite a few of the "scientists" were actually social scientists and therefore, not versed in the hard sciences.

No scientist could honestly answer the question ‘is human sex binary?’ other than ‘yes’.

Similarly, no scientist could honestly answer the question ‘can a human change sex?’ other than ‘no’.

Professor Robert Winston spelt it out in simplified scientific terms on Question Time. Every cell of our bodies is encoded male or female.

There’s nothing else to debate.

It's depressing that 1/3 think sex isnt binary (even if they were social scientists).

I mean if you can get that wrong, how can you expect anyone to take your research seriously?

Froodwithatowel · 06/03/2024 17:20

How many truly thought that though, and how many thought it was the nice lie to say, were kind lying or virtue signal lying, or were afraid to not lie?

Iirc Joan Smith's article pointed out not all the scientists were PhD's so could have included students. Although, unless Gcse biology has totally gone down the toilet (which I don't discount), even science students fresh to university should know sex is binary and immutable. Whether or not they can bring themselves to say that....well, it seems a third of them can't.
