Suggestions of women-focused charities?

I have done a few small fundraising projects over the years and this year I'm planning another one. I would like to raise funds for an organisation that supports women's health issues or one that focuses on supporting women who have been subject to DA. Does anyone have recommendations of charities who work in these areas and accept the relevance of sex in the issues?

I came across the charity "Well Being of Women" and it looks excellent but know nothing about it other than what it says on the website. I wondered if anyone had come across it or its work in action?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Take a look at JKRowling’s charity Beira’s Place.

The DA charities I was supporting have been colonised by the cult. I am still supporting 2 x DA refuges by providing presents for children and teens at Christmas time. Both of these have fallen into the cult’s hands.

I would advise you a couple of things that I have learned over the last year. If you give vouchers and/or money they may not end up in the intended hands of the people you wish to help. I no longer donate this way very sadly.

Thanks very much for the link to that thread @NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision Really helpful. And thank you @WhiteVelvet I can't believe I didn't think of Beira's Place. Very depressing that so many organisations have been captured.

Beira's Place is a private enterprise rather than a charity (presumably so the Charity Commission couldn't be bombarded with spiteful timewasting complaints, as Mermaids did with LGB Alliance).

JKR's Lumos charity is child rather than female-focussed, but still worthy of consideration.

I would also say that if you are able, time given to a local charity is arguably more productive than donations.

Thanks @Beowulfa that's really helpful. I do hope to give time to some organisations in a few years but for various reasons donations are more practical for now. I'm taking on board everything that PPs have said on this though so hope to make whatever I do count.

(RBWA) Reigate and Banstead Women’s Aid has gone to the cult. It is now ‘I Choose Freedom’. They removed ‘Women’ from the title. I was told it was because they didn’t want to be associated with the bigger charity Woman’s Aid. This is BS. They’d been called this name since inception.

I can’t even bare to look at their Twitter or Facebook pages any longer. They barely make references to the women and girls as ‘women and girls’ they have in their care.

I checked their accounts online under Companies House and there it was... the EDI bribes donations.

It had been a DA refuge solely for women and children but now has a third refuge for all. No-one will say who that refuge for all is targeted at though.

However, I somehow managed to gain access to viewing all the Amazon Wishlists for the refuge last xmas, when I was looking to donate. There was the Women’s wishlist, the Children’s wishlist which covers teens too and this third wishlist. Guess what was on that third wishlist... men’s toiletries and clothing etc.

All this happened under Charlotte Kneer. Did you see the documentary about this refuge on Channel 4? It was the first time a DA refuge opened its doors to the media. They showed it in 2020 I think. Was it called Safe At Last or something like that? Kneer has stepped out of her position there now. Whatever went on, she gave way.
