This documentary ran on Channel 4 six days ago and is free on youtube.

I’m Not A Woman But I’ll Take The Benefits | Transmaxxer Life Uncovered

It is an interesting watch. The presenter goes on a real journey.

The rise of transmaxxing in the last few years really exposes the utter nonsense of gender ideology. The trans maxxers are less deluded in certain ways in that they are openly sexist and it is very obvious.

Here is the previous Mumsnet thread about transmaxxxing for info:

I remember a transmaxxer who came onto MN FWR a few years ago who told us all about it. They were very proud of their contributions to the thread. They were as you would expect….

WarriorN · 26/02/2024 10:48

How the holy fuck do they get away with it?

catduckgoose · 26/02/2024 11:20

For a while I thought "transmaxxing" was satirical, I find so bizarre to see how serious they are about it.

They have a forum: https://reddit.com/r/transmaxxing

And a podcast which recently interviewed the man featured in this documentary:

I watched that a few days ago. All the men are completely oblivious/ don’t give a shit how their behaviour harms women, bar the presenter who possibly may get it a little but doesn’t ever name it, so basically joins in.

JellySaurus · 26/02/2024 19:46

The Incels' manifesto - which boils down to "no fair! I want!" Followed by the Trans manifesto - which boils down to "It's fair if I want it!"

Crankywiddershins · 27/02/2024 06:43

Why does that "woman" look like she's holding in a pee? I mean, since all they want is to pee, perhaps she should have done it before the camera rolled.

anothernamitynamenamechange · 27/02/2024 10:21

Its because, if you're a man, then the sort of men who identify as incels/looksmaxxers/transmaxxers tend to seem pitiable, weak but harmless. So lots of men might sort of despise them, but also feel pity for them. (Of course, knowing that isn't a particularly nice thought for self-identified incel types but they are mostly angry at women so...)

Its quite hard for said regular men to realise that the same men they see as weak, pitiable, harmless are perceived by many women as a threat. Or to identify the seething rage that is usually just below the surface because it will never be directed at them (I mean it is sometimes especially in America because guns+cowards are a dangerous mix. But outside of that...)

Hence the cheerful, tolerant attitude from the presenter. Its all a bit odd, but completely harmless (for him).

JellySaurus · 27/02/2024 13:35

Plus, he is Being Kind. Everybody who watches this program can see how Kind he is, and that makes him feel good. And if he feels good, he is good. (That's how it works, right? Feels=Real.)

PaperWalkAndTalk · 27/02/2024 13:49

Will watch later, but not sure why people should be critical of the presenter, he's shedding a light on these things and people are more likely to be open if the presenter has a friendly manner.

Who's going to do an interview with someone who just wants to slaughter you? You'd have to be pretty stupid or Prince Andrew.

Bosky · 28/02/2024 14:12

I'm pleased that this has been covered on mainstream TV because people didn't believe me when I told them about it but I was fucking raging that no thought was given to the impact on women and girls of these pathetic, posturing twats.

Sammy is not best pleased with Channel 4 - oh dear me, what a shame!

I don't know if I can bear to waste my life watching any more of that whining little weasel and sexist dullard Ben - I'd have to endure "Mx Kat" too. Life is too fucking short!

Academic incel-expert Dr Frazer Heritage is in the the comments, reckons the incel-transmaxxer pipeline isn't really a thing, just a handful of outliers, and Channel4 got lots wrong:

If anyone can bear to watch the watch these follow-up videos and the one posted by @catduckgoose (that dreary death-eater voice is more than I can bear) please report back 🙏

Watched the original 20 min documentary, it was a good expose of how shallow transmaxxing is! And even better when they spoke to a trans activist who was very supportive of the transmaxx manifesto!

The reaction to it shows how it has hit a nerve, and there is no way I'm watching an 80 minute video criticising a 20 min video! More self-indulgent trans talk there.

anothernamitynamenamechange · 29/02/2024 11:18

@PaperWalkAndTalk
Oh, I came across as more critical than I meant to. There is definitely a place for this kind of reporting - just as there is of Louis Theroux's inquisitive, friendly interviews with all kinds of odd (and sometimes deeply flawed) people. And its good that at least it is being openly reported as a thing. But that's why I think the journalist is able to adopt the tone he does.
More generally there is lots and lots of media around the "incel" trend, what makes young men become like that, lots of sympathetic portrayals actually. Again I don't think that is bad in itself. It does become a problem if all the focus is on them, without any on why women etc might feel (justifiably) uncomfortable/threatened by the rhetoric. Again striking the difficult balance between seeing someone as vulnerable and also realising they can simultaneously be a threat to someone else's safety and dignity.

anothernamitynamenamechange · 29/02/2024 11:21

And also because I have a son and while (thank god) he is generally cheerful and well balanced there is a constant stream of "recommended for you" videos on youtube trying to tell him how hard done by men are and how no-one cares about him and how if he marries and his children his wife will take them all and his money. It isn't true and I don't think it helps young men to pretend it is.

hi ! i am the interviewer that talked with Sammy in this video.

I wanted to provide some clarification that this video is primarily an interview about sammy and talking about her life rather than just reiterating over the documentary

(sorry for the late response, i just checked my youtube analytics yesterday and saw that people were watching the video from this website)

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 28/04/2024 21:17

We are indeed adults. In touch with reality too.
Also lots of mothers well used to dealing with toddlers raging about what they want and what's fair and just let me have it Mummy.

Install the 'Unhook' extension and it stops all the 'recommended for you' crap on youtube. https://unhook.app/

I use it and it's so much nicer to not have all the rubbish down the side. Sometimes new videos do autoplay when the one I watched has finished, but it's still a big improvement.

Ugh, imagine being an Expert in Incels. I'm sure it's actually a very useful thing to understand, but imagine how depressing it must be?

depressing at times ngl but mostly at the way they get treated, they're literally treated at subhuman scum of the earth and the reality is most of them are autistic and had awful upbringings.

It can be difficult at times but i do what i can to treat them as just regular people same as anyone else
