Hello all. I would appreciate all your thoughts.

so our transitioning at work policy said TWAW etc. and it was transphobic to say anything about it. After many debates the company agreed this was a view/belief.

it was exhausting!

now we have mandatory training that says we all agree this is a safe place to work and we will all challenge our supervisors if we don’t agree.

having spent a lot of effort challenging the TWAW next steps? What next. ? So fed up of this “it’s ok if you agree mantra”

Can you clarify / expand on what your concerns about the new policy are? What’s your objection to the “we are a safe place to work” statement?

I mean, all workplaces should protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees, because they are legally required to do so.

Is your concern that the training is actively promoting the development of a “call out culture” in your workplace, which you’re concerned will lead to policing colleagues’ views, speech and opinions?

Safe place seems to be ok only if you agree. That’s the problem. It’s not safe for many to have to agree with certain political statements the company is making.

What rights you have at work depends on which country you are in.
Equality laws in England are pretty well tested, and whoever is training you about equality should not misrepresent the law.

my workplace has a DEI policy that replaces sex with gender, and HR data collection that asks for people's gender not sex. They recently put out a campaign asking for people to anonymously report incidences of discrimination. I completed the form to state that the HR policy and basis of data collection did not reflect (and therefore discriminated against) employees who hold the woriads belief in biological reality and that I did not feel safe to express my legally protected beliefs, citing the recent tribunal outcomes as examples in other employment situations Could you go down a similar route with regards to it not being a safe place to work and express your beliefs without discrimination?

I am not sure if this is relevant as most of it’s on a specific topic. However there maybe some bits that are.

Is misgendering someone harassment under the Equality Act 2010?

TL; DR:
