Allsorts Youth Project are charity located in Brighton, they’re mostly known for their Trans Inclusion Toolkit that provides the foundation for LGBTQ+ policy on schools across the country.
Allsorts Youth Project are very well supported politically locally, and receive public funds for their work. They provide LGBTQ+ training locally for professionals working with children across education, health and social services.
Allsorts Youth Project are hosting a webinar this evening to provide their thoughts on responses to the draft DfE guidelines for schools and colleges. This webinar is restricted to their invite list and professionals working with children and young people in the Sussex area. This webinar specifically excludes parents living in the Sussex area with children who’re subject to the policies and culture lead by Allsorts Youth Project across education, health and social services, who’re not on their private invite list.
With this decision Allsorts Youth Project are indicating they have something to hide from local parents. It appears they’re attempting to hide behind verified professionals working with children, who’re trained by Allsorts Youth Project. This restriction to their webinar on public policy makes it look like Allsorts Youth Project are using safeguarding professionals to protect them from parents having access to their policy content.
This approach by a key driver of educational, health and social services service delivery is not increasing parental trust in Allsorts Youth Project, nor with local politicians. This is not working with parents, they’re asserting a status above parents.
What are they hiding from us?
