It's very sad to see Scottish women being treated this way.

I was invited to speak at both festivals so did some digging to get to the truth.

It seems the Alloa Women's Festival was booked to take place in March at it's usual venue but a small handful of women who had been loosely involved in the previous festivals got jealous of the success & liberated the money raised for the 3rd festival into one of their own bank accounts. Hastily organised a much smaller meet-up in Falkirk. Tried to discredit the actual organisers and took credit for their hard work.

This appears to have been organised by a meglomaniac whose sole purpose is to create division & conflict & causing massive problems for previously well-respected organisations & 100+ well-respected campaigners.

We've had women trying to do the same here & we had to take painful decisions to weed them out, so my advice would be to trust your instincts. You have a single woman who hides in the shadows directing false flag campaigns to split the movement, create conflict & sow division. I think I'd be asking myself who benefits from that. Because it's not women's rights.

Gosh. You seem to have dug in the wrong place if that's what you think you found.
And you say you had to "weed" some women out where you are? I wonder how they'd describe it? 🤔

Oh this is excellent, have you ever thought of going into crime fiction writing. 🕵

Living outside Scotland by the sounds of it, you have undercovered a criminal mistressmind influencing Scottish feminist grassroots organisations, presumably hiding behind a green, white a purple striped curtain, as she co-ordinates her false flag missions. Is she a TRA? If so, she's not doing very well is she?

Cheered my dull Monday right up. Thank you😀

As far as l am aware most women who have been around for a while and continue to be involved in Scottish grassroots feminism are fully aware of what happened and BananaAppleBread's description is correct.

PogueMahoneBoris · 27/02/2024 12:41

If you say so. Will you be contributing to the fictional crime novel as well?

Weesparrowhawk · 27/02/2024 21:27

what about instead of a crime novel, a mini series?

who would play the central characters?

who would play the woman who transferred the money from Alloa Women’s Festival to her own account?

any ideas for the woman who decided to eject women who represented more than 100 others from a feminist network?

enjoying the creativity potentially involved!

women will make up their own minds. It’s not hard to find the info 🤷🏻‍♀️

here’s to the Alloa Women’s Festival and the impact it will have 👏

As I said earlier, I was going to go to Alloa, but, honestly, this thread is putting me off, it's all so mean spirited.

Please don't let this thread put you off, Alloa is going to be amazing and it would be a shame to miss it if you have a ticket. It is sold out now so if you do decide not to go please do let them know and they can reallocate your ticket. 🙂

ScoldsBridle · 29/02/2024 11:17

I’m sadly unable to go so will be letting them know I don’t need my place. Nothing to do with this thread btw just a clash of commitments.

Dontblameitonsunshine · 02/03/2024 06:21

I agree with @falalalalalalalallama . Filia does it well because it platforms great speakers as well as proving lots of unknown people the opportunity to highlight their work.
I think kjk’s method is extremely destructive as it capitalises on vulnerable women feeling momentarily great for speaking but then nothing comes out of it. It’s like going on one of those spill-your-guts talk shows, you get a spotlight on you, you feel great, then everyone moves on and the vulnerable women feel even more vulnerable and literally nothing has been created or built upon. Except kjk has sold a few hoodies.
i like the idea of unhappy women building their own festivals in Falkirk or wherever. Good for them. It’s much more likely something will come out of this.
