A response back already from the PCC's office.
My email:
Thank you for your recent comments regarding the alleged sex offender Osareen Omoruyi.
It is of great importance that the public are able to trust the police. Calling a man a woman is stating an untruth, and undermines confidence in the police. It will distort statistics and puts vulnerable groups at risk when crime is not accurately reported and recorded.
Can you reassure me that Thames Valley Police will agree that male suspects will be named as male going forward, so there is no further confusion?
Response (partial):
'The PCC has raised this matter with the Chief Constable, as part of his regular review of Policing performance. However, please note that operational policing decisions are the responsibility of the Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, the PCC is not allowed by law to intervene directly.'
