Not sure what I've missed as I've been away from socials for a couple of weeks.
But what's Happened? Stock is leaving twitter, KJK posted about the disappointment of your generals giving away what you e fought for.
Is this about pronouns?

FWR seems to be going through a bit of a dry spell when it comes to discussions that reflect detailed and reflective critical thinking.

A dry spell of detailed and reflective thinking?

When you are the one not getting what is going on here?

Helleofabore · 16/02/2024 10:21

Yeah, I thought that was a great zinger too, Alison. It worked on many levels, didn’t it?

Words matter.

Just read the whole thread, really interesting posts.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the power dynamic/language in KJK tweet, referring to "her" generals. I think I'd be pretty pissed off about that if I was KS. KS has done loads for the movement, stuck her head above the parapet so much that it almost feels like KJK is taking credit.

Agree with PPs on here about the infighting too. It must be completely baffling to those who don't follow the debate. And some of it is a bit reminiscent of TRA "no debate" tactics from 2015 ish.

Villagetoraiseachild · 17/02/2024 21:57

The principle is quite simple really, not baffling.

  1. Some have a firm boundary on not engaging with the ideology and use of preferred pronouns because they thoroughly grasp the profound implications and significance therein.

  2. Some have a flexible boundary on engaging, for a variety of personal reasons and may have a different hierarchy of values.

We're not however in a competition for the Terfiest Terf.
Everyone who wants to bring something to the table can, we all have different valuable skills to offer and we're all on a learning curve.

It was always going to be a highly emotive debate because many of us have skin in the game.

AlisonDonut · 17/02/2024 22:02

It is simple.

Some tell the truth, no matter who it hurts.

Some tell lies depending on their assessment of who might get hurt, and that includes themselves.

I won't lie. But I can see why some would, particularly when there is a target on their back. But those that lie shouldn't really be calling those that won't 'ultras'.

Villagetoraiseachild · 17/02/2024 22:15

I hard agree @AlisonDonut .
But rarely is the lie necessary, you can just use the first name and be graceful in honorable refusal.
