At the heart of this case is die-hard football fan Linzi Smith and the outrageous way she’s been treated by the club she supports – Newcastle United Football Club (NUFC) – for expressing views that don’t align with fashionable orthodoxy.

That part of the story is, in itself, bad enough. But what the FSU has also uncovered while providing Linzi with support and assistance is a shadowy intelligence unit embedded in the Premier League, whose job appears to be snooping on football fans, checking their social media accounts, and then determining if they’ve engaged in wrongthink.

I just cant get my head around this. Given the thousands who attend football matches, there must be many who express really racist and sexist ideas online. And yet out of those many thousands, the Premiere League has decided a priority is to investigate, condemn and then ban a woman who believes in the biological reality of sex!!!!!!!!!!

I had missed this before and have two observations:

1. Toby Jones is involved, and he's a twat
2. she probably shouldn't have used NUFC in her twitter handle as it increases the risk the club will take action due to brand association.

NUFC is a private organisation, its up to them how they deal with members. I think it will be interesting to see how the case goes. I don't really like this current trend of "anything goes as long as its not criminal" and will be interested to see how a judge views it. Especially if Cazpar is right about the content of the tweets.

Her tweet mentions "a Nazi" ie. a single person in history not all/random Nazis.

I assume she was referring to Dr Erwin Gohrbrandt who was a pioneer of transgender surgery in 1930s Germany. He went on to be one of the doctors who conducted "Freezing experiments" in Dachau concentration camp that saw numerous inmates tortured and murdered.

I don't personally like the "people with opposite views to me are Nazis" discourse we see a lot of on twitter but it seems here she is likely referring to an actual historical Nazi.

The problem is you keep using second hand (ie you dont know) screen shots that are clearly part of ongoing threads.

One is saying what is regularly said on FWR that LGB has nothing to do with TQ. If that's transphopia then Eden@Aston is right and this whole forum is transphobic.

The others are about "perverts" infiltrating (I presume) trans groups. Again something regularly said on FWR.

But please do add posts that are directly from Linzi that indicating she is suspect.

I have checked and many of these tweets are actually still up on her twitter account. Anyone could go and see for themselves, if you e.g. search her twitter account for "pervert".

I don't think it's strange at all that transphobia should be called out, especially when someone is asking for money via a crowdfunder claiming that they're an innocent victim. You can choose to support her if you wish, but if you find it uncomfortable that I'm shedding some sunlight on what she actually said then I can't help.

Nobody should be subjected to Stasi-like investigations for posting about cutting up any flag. You are welcome to cut up a whole range of flags, even if other people find it phobic. I’m sure worse things have been done to the Israeli flag in recent times.

The screenshots you posted in the message I responded to didn’t mention cutting up the trans flag (though not liking the trans flag isn’t the same as not liking trans people, the flag is the symbol of a political group - just as the suffragette colours are the colours of a political group and not actually a representation of all women) or Nazis so I wasn’t addressing those claims. I was, as addressing the content of the screenshots you posted.

In those tweets the “perverts” she’s talking about appear to be particular people that were mentioned previously.

My assumption is these people who do not in Linzi’s opinion have anything in common with the LGB movement. Who are looking for legitimacy for a wide variety of sexual practices that now seem to be being adopted under, particularly, the “queer” label but also to the “trans” label that Linzi (and many others) see as fetishes and perversions and not at all in the same boat as same-sex attraction. Hence force teeming.

She changed her Twitter Handle AFTER she had been reported to the police (no case to answer), investigated (stalked) by the Premier League and banned by the club.

The reason she changed her Twitter handle was to try to evade the small band of men who had been harassing her ever since she accidentally achieved a modicum of fame locally by posting a short video clip of her singing, "You'll never see a Mackem in Milan".

The Premier League Report acknowledges that she was harassed online (by men making lesbophobic comments).

When the BBC tweeted that article the other day there were hundreds of replies and quote tweets verbally abusing her - the occasional death threat too, of course. Many demonstrably false allegations and many, many lesbophobic comments.

They have just got an excuse to persecute a woman who has had the cheek to be better informed about football than they are, to be popular and, to have gained a small amount of attention and fame with her few-seconds-long video, exuberantly taunting Mackems, fans of NUFCs local rivals, Sunderland. Worst of all, on top of all that, she has the nerve to be that ultimate rejector of men: a lesbian.

Lesbians don't do dick and the ultimate insult is expecting lesbians to accommodate the perverted desires of some men to penetrate them.

What is remarkable is how cheerfully and politely she bats away the rain of abuse and insults.
