US surgeon who whistleblew on gender surgery on minors being prosecuted

Has anyone seen this case? The hospital he worked at publicly stated they had stopped 'gender affirming' care in minors, while still doing it. His reward for speaking up is persecution by the authorities for 'leaking children's info to right wing groups so they could attack them' (which he didn't do, he leaked redacted surgical schedules). His legal costs are $250000 so far and he hasn't even been charged yet.

What a remarkable journey this doctor has had! He is obviously very brave. I wish him luck.

He has a crowdfunder for legal fees - easy to find by googling. These sorts of cases need to get to court to get maximum sunlight.

He's being prosecuted for leaking private patient medical records to a right wing think tank. He also felt a "demonic" presence while the patients were being treated.

As far as I can tell, no personal details were released at all, no violations of HIPAA. Regardless of his religious views that doesn't seem to warrant prosecution.

No, he leakes redacted surgery schedules. No patient identifying information. The piece you posted even grudgingly admits that, but claims people could identify patients '(if) someone who knew a patient of a certain age saw a particular doctor at a particular time and date to infer what that patient’s diagnosis and the purpose of their visit was'. I mean, that's quite a stretch, isn't it?
