Thanks @Needmoresleep I’m not a runner so the entry times point didn’t occur to me. It would be interesting to ask the researcher if they had information on how entry times for the NB races compared to those for other equivalent races.

There are no references listed in that article, so it looks like readers are expected to take that unlikely claim as fact.

A "Reader in Financial Mathematics", a sociology professor and an "independent researcher".....

I think they had fun writing that.

I assume they managed it without a large research grant of the type seemingly given to academics who subscribe to gender ideology.
