As an aside, remember that red haired bloke 'Beth' someone or other who seemed to have the ear of the SG? Whatever happened to him - he went v quite all of a sudden.

The odious Beth who likes to threaten violence against women and who was applauded by various MSP's at the end of the GRR Bill debate.

I hope they, and awful Alex Cole-Hamilton, are mortified with themselves.

Brilliant news. Hopefully the nail in the coffin for gender self-id law throughout the UK.

RhannionKPSS · 19/12/2023 16:10

Fingers crossed for tomorrow 🤞

teawamutu · 19/12/2023 16:41

Amazing. Can someone try to get a live reaction shot from that misogynist little Harvie toad?

There were other allegations too:

The Grooming Of Holyrood

It’s been hard to avoid the puffy, perpetually-smirking face of Edinburgh transactivist Beth Douglas, the co-convener of the Rainbow Greens, recently. He’s been all over the media, from…

Not because they are seeing sense, but because the Haldane judgement was so scathing there is no chance of winning

I cant read the article, but Lady Haldane was only saying what Scotland wants is not what the over riding UK legislation allows.

But once Labour comes into power they are more than likely to change the over riding UK legislation so that the Scottish GRR want be needed because all of the UK will have the same self id law.

This is only a temporary stay.

Once Labour is in power there will be no protection against underage self id being legal.

Ironically we need the SNP to do really well in Scotland to reduce the number of Labour members elected from Scotland to Westminster as they will help bolster a Labour majority.

Merkins in the public gallery tomorrow, then? Maybe merkin bunting?

Cancelledcurio · 20/12/2023 02:56

Oh I so hope this is the end of it and I can move back hame! Scotland will hopefully kick that lot oot at the next election ! And get the Green ta hell as well! Oh I wish Labour would learn from this but will they - me thinks naw .

Excellent thread on the storytelling about to come out from the Scottish Government -

This is nice and clear and I think helps show why, if Labour do get in to Westminster, they won't be able to pass anything as extreme as was proposed up here. The cat is out of the bag now and the objections that were ignored have been clearly demonstrated to be real (thanks Isla!). Labour may not care but it's obvious now that the general public do and I just don't think they'd be able to push it through under be kind, no debate, you're all bigots in the way the SNP did. Let's hope so anyway.

highame · 20/12/2023 07:46

What happened to the Green's red line. Have they made a statement?

CoatOfArms · 20/12/2023 07:52

Obviously pleased, but simultaneously fuming about the money they have spent on this.

That's an interesting - and very sinister - thread. Thanks @Waitwhat23

Lucy and her colleagues have been marvellous throughout this. It's outrageous their calm, expert advice was disregarded.

MBM and For Women Scotland deserve bloody medals for their services to women in Scotland. We'd have been fucked without them.

The fuckwit Shona Robison -

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/12/20/shona-robison-refuse-apologise-nicola-sturgeon-self-id-law/

(An interesting point- the link I wanted to add is not the one above - it keeps redirecting to a different article (Conservative party say GRR bill will reappear) but with the same photo. Even if I click directly on the 'SNP Minister refuses to... link on the Telegraph site, it still redirects. Odd).

Anyway, the gist of the disappearing link was that our dear Shona won't apologise to the feminist groups who told her over and over about the issues.

She's the same fuckwit who said this...
