Adidas swimsuit models

I wonder why adidas would choose this model for women’s swimwear?

Regardless of their sex/gender, I want to see what the clothes look like on a typical female body - ie one where the hips are larger than the waist - so this isn’t useful for me.

Looks like I won’t be buying an adidas swimsuit then 🙄

Looks like this a swimsuit designed for men? As there is a man wearing it and it seems to adequately accommodate his anatomy.

My rule of thumb is that the longer the acronym, the less it has to do with lesbians. Which would fit here.

Adidas give you the option to search by gender, but not by sex….surely it would make sense to be able to search just for suits to fit a female (or male) body?!

That goes with my theory about the state of countries:

Plop? Fine.
The Republic of Plop? OK, maybe.
The Democratic Republic of Plop? Getting worse.
The People's Democratic Republic of Plop? Bad.
The Glorious People's Democratic Republic of Plop and Ploptania? They're torturing dissidents.

Anyway, there are plenty of one-piece swimsuits that can house a knob. The rest is just cynical marketing.

Not only house a knob but balls as well - and then provide sufficient room to encase said knob and balls swinging from left to right as our stunning and brave bloke ploughs up and down the council pool.

My (male) partner pointed out the same and to be fair, the swimsuit isn't advertised as "women's clothing". However, it does look very feminine with all the pink bright colours, plus I've never seen a man wearing anything like it?
Perhaps it was designed for trans/cross dressing males?
It doesn't really bother me but my gut reaction was to laugh because it does look ridiculous worn by a man imo (yes I know I will be flamed by some). I also wouldn't buy it for myself as I'm not convinced it's designed appropriately for a female body.

Love for equality is love for the game apparently - until the winner in the female category is a bloke who’s pushed a woman out of the medal positions, and then equality doesn’t come into it.

The plus model's one is too big. It's all baggy. Why make a swim suit and then get the fit so wrong on th model.

Nope, none at all - they’ve been wearing ones cut for the male shape to allow for swimming without leakage for decades now. This one isn’t.

If a swimsuit is cut to accomodate dick and balls, isn't it going to be baggy on a woman?

And what about all the other physical differences? Shoulders, hips, breasts?

It's a unisex swimming costume that's part of the Pride collection. Whether lesbians asked to be honoured in this way is irrelevant because it's a unisex item. If the campaign included a woman in baggy board shorts would we be asking if gay men asked to be honoured in that way?

A woman in baggy shorts? You mean, the kind of thing women wear generally?

If they’re claiming that they’re honouring the lesbian community then that’s where lumping female sexuality in with men’s feelings comes unstuck.

I don't think it is possible to cut a swimming costume in a unisex way. It isn't clear if this swimming costume is cut for a male body or a female body.
The only way they could 'get away' with this costume is to use the same fabric in two costumes, one designed and named as for a male body, one for a female and have a male model the male one and a female model the female one.

Missing the point but...
The sizing is so confusing, the standard size model wears a 32", their chest is 34" but sizes apparently run small so says to size up... from M to L for example... the plus size wears a 2X but has a chest 22" and apparently these fit true to size... Oh and clicking on either size guide only adds to the confusion!

It probably does come up small if you’re trying to fit extra bits in the gusset.
