Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

"A key shot in golf croquet is the jump shot,” she told The Telegraph.
“If you’re on the boundary, you can jump over a couple of balls and get through a hoop. I can only do mid-jumps, I can’t do one from the baseline. But Jamie can."

WHaaat? That's not croquet as I know it!

Still a cheat, with or without star jumps.

CatChant · 15/12/2023 17:51

Cheat not champion.

So tired of this nonsense.

HereForTheFreeLunch · 15/12/2023 17:57

Just look at the fiasco that is the Brit awards for whether sex matters or not!
We are in a deeply sexist world where many would prefer it if women just stfu and stuck to dishing out the tea and minding the children. Still. In 2023 going on 24.

SamW98 · 15/12/2023 18:18

Yet again this imagine needs sharing

The women’s croquet world champion…

It's golf croquet. That part of the article is explaining why the difference between golf croquet and 'normal' croquet means men have even more advantage in that type.

More support for the cheats of the sporting world from myGwork LGBTetcetc professionals

I've got it on a t shirt.

Froodwithatowel · 15/12/2023 19:19

'Other women' - bollocks.

Kittens are tables.
Stars are small lawnmowers.

Saying random shit doesn't make it true. Or hide appalling misogyny.

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 15/12/2023 19:36

Men should not be in women's sport at any level. Growing your hair long and wearing earrings does not alter your chromosomes AFAIK.

hellsBells246 · 15/12/2023 20:36

ArthurbellaScott · 15/12/2023 14:13

As with EVERY SINGLE OTHER SPORT women also face monthly periods affecting their performance, and/or pregnancy, and/or childbirth, breastfeeding, and maternity in general impact on their ability to take part, compete, and consolidate their career.

As with EVERY SINGLE OTHER SPORT women also face systemic and institutionalised sexism, prejudice, and 'old boy's networks' that are barriers to participation.

It didn't take everyone long to forget that we have separate sports, spaces and rights for a fucking wide variety of reasons, did it?

👏👏👏

user1471464218 · 15/12/2023 20:54

The commentator inadvertently referred to Jamie as "he."
Or on purpose ...

HootyMcBooby · 15/12/2023 22:15

HOW can these people enjoy their "win" knowing that they have taken the rightful place of a woman who has trained, probably for years, for this opportunity?
HOW can they stand there with no shame and pose for photographs?

Do they actually feel zero guilt?

Dirty rotten low life cheaters, the lot of them.

Oh, hang on, this isn't happening though, is it?...............

PatatiPatatras · 15/12/2023 22:31

We're going to need a "lest we forget" monument to avoid a relapse of this nonsense when it is over.

Why is she quietly sobbing though?
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Do not go gently into that good night...

I imagine they feel zero shame because all that matters to them is they have been validated as being a ‘real’ woman and not only that, they’re actually better at being a woman than those pesky biological women so all they care about is themselves and their male entitlement

Why are the women next to the man smiling?!? Why aren't they angry???

For the same reason that North Koreans applaud Kim Jong Un until they collapse in exhaustion.

Froodwithatowel · 15/12/2023 13:36

How many men exactly are now 'women's champion' at various things? Because there seems a fuckton, with a new one turning up daily.

I thought it was supposed to be so vanishingly rare that we wouldn't notice (which would supposedly mitigate the mad sexism and disrespect for women involved)?

Even fecking Irish dancing has been taken over..

SD1978 · 16/12/2023 00:50

So- snooker, swimming, cycling & Fishing- at least that I can think of. How stunning and brave they all are....

SD1978 · 16/12/2023 00:52

I also don't give a crap if a sport is not necessarily 'different' for male and female competitors- I'd assume there really isn't much of a difference with this- but they are not a champion from the years they spent playing as a man. None of them are. They are usually mediocre, and look at using women's sports as their second chance.

ManaManaDoDoDoDoDo · 16/12/2023 00:52

If sex doesn't matter, then where are all the Trans Men winning in men's competitions?

Greatballzoffire · 16/12/2023 01:00

An American Irish dancer lost out on her chance to go to the world's because of a trans dancer. The dancer was 11th in the boys back in April & won the girls Southen regionals last month when it decided to switch to the women's competition.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 16/12/2023 01:41

And another of the not-golf things. Frisbee golf?

I take issue with the pronoun 'it'.

The correct pronoun is 'he'.

Greatballzoffire · 16/12/2023 09:27

@Chersfrozenface correction noted & agreed! It's just another example 11th in the boys, enters the girls then wins...
