Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

I just wish they could be a sensible centrist party I could vote for. 3 major parties all inherently flawed. At least it’s not Boris v Jezza I suppose.

Helleofabore · 19/11/2023 10:03

I am not surprised that Belcher will be a candidate. ( Weren’t they before? ) either way, it seems inevitable.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/11/2023 11:16

I think Belcher was a candidate in Wiltshire before, I remember KJK going to a hustings there and Belcher was one of the candidates.

PriOn1 · 19/11/2023 11:46

Despite appearing to have significant under-the-radar power within the party, Belcher is remarkably unpopular.

For some men, cheating is the only means of getting where they want.

I see from his wiki page he's a software developer with a computer science degree. What is it with these computers enthusiasts being so overrepresented in the men-calling-themselves-women community? There are so many examples of this. Or maybe they stand out more because the tech industry is so male dominated?

Gosh, they's done very well for Belcherself.

'In 2012, Belcher gave evidence to the Leveson Inquiry, an investigation into the culture, practices and ethics of the press.[8] She gave evidence again in 2015 for the Women and Equalities Select Committee's inquiry into trans equality,[9] and in 2017 for the Joint Parliamentary Committee of Human Rights' inquiry into free speech.[10]
The Times withdrew from the 2018 Comment Awards when Belcher, a judge on the panel, asked for her name to be removed following the nomination of Janice Turner. It was claimed that Turner had contributed to a number of articles in the press that resisted the Government's proposed reform to the Gender Recognition Act, with Belcher suggesting that trans suicides had increased as a result.[11][12]
Belcher stood as a Liberal Democrat in the election for Wokingham Borough Council in 2016 but lost by 122 votes to the Conservative candidate.[13] Later that year, she was selected as Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate to replace Duncan Hames in his former constituency of Chippenham, where she was unsuccessful in the 2017 general election against the incumbent Conservative, Michelle Donelan.[5] She was re-selected as Chippenham's Liberal Democrat candidate for the 2019 general election, and she lost again.[14][15]
Belcher was elected to represent the Corsham Pickwick division in the 2021 Wiltshire Council election, winning with 51% of the vote and an 11.94% majority over the second-placing Conservative Party candidate.[16]
Belcher was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2023 New Year Honours for services to the transgender community.[17]'

It is interesting. I can only offer the insight that after studying comp sci and having a 25 year career in it, I have only ever known one male of my network to transition and he was an absolute 100% creep the girls knew not to go near at uni. I heard he had 'decided to live as a woman' some years after i left in about 2007. Before trans was a word used for the practice I believe as it was spoken about very differently among friends, kind of a baffled oh, that makes sense.

As for the seemingly common occurrence of this I can only speculate, there are types among the nerd community. Such as,

-highly sexed ones prone to becoming incels
-massive egos with God complex
-emos who are so misunderstood
-manipulative psychopath/evil genius
-the nihlist branch
-the drug user clique
-closet gay and can't come out due to unsupportive community

Sometimes special ones that are most of the above.

Need for attention and feeling they are unique and different are common traits. Extraversion results in bad behaviour in the open, introverts just do dodgy dealings online and in the head or vicariously through others.

Perhaps it is the same as with non geek male communities and so what is the difference? I'd say possibly access to females - whether just normal daily interaction with female people or as girlfriends, family. Now I think about it, hardly any of my geek friends ar that time had female siblings. Hmm.

I've gone on a bit of a tangent here, reminiscing about the men in my life. There are some good ones.

CheeseChamp · 21/11/2023 22:39

Oh, and! They take a long, long time to grow up. I count myself in the group of perpetual childhood. I think I'm finally an adult, and can think in an adult way. I've been sure for a while that a life online, watching Japanese cartoons and playing games, stunts us in some way. My colleagues can see it in the way I behave. They are astonished to learn my real age.

TempestTost · 21/11/2023 23:02

I think there is a higher incidence of autism in that group, which correlates with gender identity problems.
