Charity Christmas cards

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster! I just wondered if anyone could recommend which charity I could support by buying Christmas cards. I’d like to support a feminist charity or one that supports the needs of women and children. Alternatively an animal charity would do.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, they think some men are women and presumably some women are men. They mention "trans women" but not transmen.

We are here to create a world where young women are valued, have choices and can look forward to a fairer financial future. We tackle sexism and misogyny, with and for anyone who has experienced this – including trans women and non-binary people.
We include and welcome all young women, including trans women, in all aspects of our work. If you identify as non-binary and are comfortable being supported by a women’s service, or being involved in a women’s campaigning organisation, we are happy to help you and welcome you into our campaigns.

It looks like a good charity thanks but a charity for female people would be better.

looks like the cats protection league

I suspect you may end up with an animal charity OP, so might I suggest you buy some from Celia Hammond - as a smaller charity they obviously attract less funding; & their work includes running low-cost vet clinics at their two London rescues, which are in deprived parts of the city.

Usually a charity gets a teeny tiny percentage from card sales.

Why not just buy non-charity cards and then make a separate donation to a charity of your choice. That way they get to keep all of the money.

Thanks for the link. I've just bought cats protection cards but will definitely endorse this charity

@QueenBitch666
Thank you for letting me know - they really are an incredible charity. They also run a sanctuary down in Sussex for elderly cats & cats with high medical needs, who wouldn’t/couldn’t be adopted, so they aren’t stuck in a rescue centre - or worse, put down - but spend their lives in the countryside with about 130 other cats, doted on by CHAT volunteers. (I always imagine them turning up with wee labels on like WW2 evacuees…) In 2018 the local fox hunt went crashing through the sanctuary because the hounds completely totally accidentally scented a fox (& then got distracted by a deer) and rather than call them off, the hunt thought that it was totally fine & sensible to charge into a cat sanctuary at full cry (MN Litter Tray Thread at time).

Celia is a pretty formidable woman, too; & the vast majority of staff & volunteers at the charity are women, so arguably supporting CHAT is a way of supporting women - in a sisterhoody way - as well as supporting cats in the more obvious way.
