A gender-critical Newcastle United fan says the club have suspended her membership because police investigated her for tweeting that “trans women are men”.
The 34-year-old, who asked not to be identified, was interviewed under caution by police after a complaint over tweets in which she also said that gender-affirming surgery was “mutilating children”. The investigation has now been dropped

Premier league managers are definitely not all powerful. Eddie will be responsible for team selection, training and tactics. He may not even have much say on transfer policy. Business managers will be responsible for commercial activity, and they will have someone quite senior responsible for security and police liason.

I suspect the police are the problem. Newcastle could well be following their advice.

Well not being flip, but if there is no evidence that the Saudi owners instigated the ban, I would have thought appealing to them that it is illogical to punish a woman for stating biological facts as it is something they understand / organise their socieyt on.

And that not to support the woman concerned in this instance, would do damage to their current political position that they are advancing Women's Rights in Saudi Arabia. (Which I doubt they include trans women in.)
