Article published this morning is very biased as per usual. It completely omits to mention that:

  • he is male
  • he has 5-alpha reductase deficiency
  • the reason that his testosterone is in the normal male range is it's being produced by his testes
  • he has fathered two children

Semenya 'not ashamed of being different'

Caster Semenya tells the BBC she is "not going to be ashamed" of being "different", and will "fight for what is right" amid her ongoing dispute with athletics authorities.

None of those links work anymore - pages are unavailable.

They have replaced it with this on the 15th and it mentions XY so decent facts for a change from the BBC.

I got the same reply to my complaint. That article is still not clear enough, it sounds like CS is female or a mix, not a male with underdeveloped penis and/or testes. It's maddening how they won't just say 5-ARD which only affects males! What "female characteristics" does CS have?!

The only female characteristic Semenya has is "no willy", which isn't a female characteristic at all, it's the absence of a male characteristic.

This case is a tricky one.

Because she’s intersex and I’m guessing drs told her parents to raise her a girl? So she’s lives her whole life as a woman but now we’re seeing that her body is now male dominant?

I feel for her, because to me this isn’t a case of a man trying to be a woman and competing in female sports. To me this is more a question about intersexuality.

However, I may be wrong?
