Size 18 "Praised for Beautiful Body"

I don't really want this to become a thread about whether it's "okay" or not, or about whether the body positivity movement is good or bad because it almost doesn't matter at this point - at least not in terms of what I wanted to get your opinions on, I want to ideally keep this as light-hearted as possible!

Is it just me that has noticed plus sized models you see in the main stream ALSO have unattainable bodies/characteristics?
There's always been a lot of talk about unrealistic beauty standards and unattainable physiques in older school modelling understandably, but it feels like Plus Sized models aren't talked about as much as also featuring those things.

Like... Let's be real here, the majority of size 18's will not have this type of figure.

Where fat decides to put itself varies from woman to woman. I've been out and about in the real world, it's SO rare to come across someone with extra weight in literally all the "right" places in real life - And that of course not to say that they don't exist, just that having an absolutely perfect hourglass figure with no lumps or bumps or extra rolls/creases is not the norm in real life!

Has anyone else noticed this?

Note; I do have to give credit to some online retailers who do a good job of getting a wide range of shapes as well as sizes!

Yeah, the fact is that even for women who are average or thinner than average, things like having kids will change their body. Age has an effect as well. When you are in your 20s everything will have a certain elasticity, but that goes over time.

It also may well be the case that some of these models, while being overweight, also have good muscle tone. Especially in younger women it's possible to have both of those things together if they are active, and it will affect things like the shape of their stomach and how their body carries weight, good posture, etc. Just like skinny people can be unfit with poor muscle tone. Unfortunately carrying a lot of weight (like the model in the picture, not so much "normal" somewhat heavy people) will make it much harder to stay active as time goes on.

She looks bigger than an 18. And she looks like a normal person - I don't think her 'fat distribution' is great. I am surprised at how many plus size models have flat stomachs though.

Wouldn’t it be nice if beauty wasn’t such a prevalent attribute for women?

I don't care how she looks, she's increasing her risk of cancer, heart disease and diabetes. None of them are very sexy, even in a red bikini.

No cosmetic surgery I think is the difference.
